Also if your not using heated bed then make a sacrificial line before starting this way the head is properly warmed up.

Amazing in-depth review! I'm really curious about this printer because I want to get started in 3D printing but don't want to pay for an expensive one, and I'm convinced to get this one for starting out. Keep up the amazing work!

I believe if you use cura program for your printing software you can use the computer too move printing head too the calibrating points instead of manually moving the gantry and bed which is really tough on this model.

I have some comments on your review. The printer is interesting, cheap and performs well for what it is. A big step forward from the similar X1 is the spool holder, which seems to hold full-size spools! For the X1, you must arrange for an external spool holder. The addition of spare parts is good, but I suspect that the flimsy belts also might fail. The size is amazing, and really looks like the right printer to bring with you when travelling, if you can pack it without damaging those thin rods. And that is where your review fails: You did not analyze its weaknesses, only praise. The build quality of the X1 is pretty flimsy, and this looks very much the same. No heated bed. That means that many filament types are not supported. Can it do PETG? I think it is not recommended/supported. If you measure your cube, is it really symmetrical? And how about making a Benchy or other better test model? Probably round shapes will not be perfectly round, due to the small and simple motors. On X1, they tend to be a bit square. Finally, I believe that it is quite slow. So, thanks for the review, but if you want to make better reviews, analyze pros and cons deeper. The machine looks just great as portable 3D printer but I need to know its weak points to know if I can use it.

How to push from point 1 to point 2 to test the nozzle to bed height? I am using this printer. When i press home, i can test it, and can push to the front, so i can only test out 2 points. But i can't push to the other 2 points to test. How?

Hi, when you press home. The nozzle will touch bed. after that you need to disconect power cable. and then by hand move nozle to each point. and at eatch point you need adjust bed.

I have the K7 with the semi autol-level and an USB port. However, it is not possible to use the usb to transfer gcode files to this printer. The USB port is not recognised on any other PC/Laptop I have. Any suggetstions how to connect and skip the use of the memory card?

I bought one of these a couple of months ago. I've been printing almost every day and have been really impressed. It did start slipping in prints after a couple of weeks but I was able to track this down to the Y-axis motor which had become dislodged slightly. You can get access to this easily by taking the bed off and reseating the Y-axis motor (it's held in place with a couple of screws). I am consistently amazed by the quality of the prints given the price. Great review by the way! Wish I'd have watched it before I bought.
