I just got a cybersecurity fundamentals certificate & and networking cable certification. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

I have taken the Blue Team Level 1 exam. The investigation portion of that exam was really fun. I am going to be taking the HTB CDSA and CYSA+ for 2024.

I like your old mic/setup better. Sounds like you talking a bit too close to the mic. Thank you for sharing this program. Will definitely give it a try.

I been stock on the beginning lessons of SOC Analyst as i am absolutely new to cyber security. Didn't even realize there was a prerequisite, i thought i was learning from scratch. I been using my government E learning pages trying to figure things out😅.

it would be best if you took a Google Cyber security course or a Windows Cyber Security analyst on coursa if you're a total beginner trust me I made the same mistake nothing was making sense you're basically trying to learn calculus without even knowing simple math

This or blue team level 1? Before this I was thinking about doing blue team lvl 1 now I’m not sure which is better
@WithSandra
9 ай бұрын
Great question! I haven't gone through the Blue Team Lvl 1 course so I can't say anything about their program, but you just want to make sure you're getting hands on experience in an SOC or SIEM simulation along with relevant cybersecurity tools, which HTB does a great job of. Best of luck with whatever program you decide to do! :D

This made me think if I will go to Sec+ or get this one first, but kudos for the material review of this certification. May I ask, if you unlock a module in HTB, will it be permanent ?

Yes , they have a subscription $18 a month for all modules

if you wanna be an ethical hacker and go for bounties and stuff, yes. if you are interested in cyber sec in general. sec+ gives you dod clearance, so you will want that so you open up more options.

I have taken that exam. It is really fun and I highly recommend it. If you do take it make sure that you know Splunk because that is the main tool that you will be using. I have Splunk experience from my job, but the exam went into depth on Splunk searches that I wasn't aware about until I took the training and the exam. I ended up passing with the silver coin.

This will really depend on what role you want to go into! The most high level is offensive or defensive security, but it sounds like defensive is more your focus based on the skills you mentioned. You can't go wrong with Security+ if you're still a student since it's very popular with HR/hiring managers. Best of luck and keep us updated!
