people over here being trolls and sarcastically asking his height and weight, but its review details like that - that would have people complaining when they bought an item and it didn't fit because they had no reference point.. my best guess, the reason he says he height and weight each time is because hes doing a review on each jacket and there are quick jump points in the description that maybe people are doing research on each jacket and don't care about the other items. So its nice to see the attention to detail here when doing reviews. go Canada eh! NS boy here RyanF9 ! keep up the reviews and good work! subbed.

The whole concept of street clothes is problematic, be they jackets, boots or whatever. There's no doubt that these garments are less protective than more heavy duty kit, but it's in cities you have the accidents. Here's a statistic from Britain: 93 per cent of all motorcycle accidents occur less than three miles from the riders' homes. Here's another: 93 or so per cent of all motorcyclists' injuries are lower limb. It makes you think, doesn't it? From my own personal experience, I almost lost my left foot following an accident in London in 2007. I was wearing low-cut boots which were forced down below my ankle which was crushed. I'm fine, but when I go shopping on the B-King or Ulysses, I wear my vented race boots, armoured jeans and a proper jacket. Another great video, though. You have a new convert.

Hi Ryan, My favorite is the Dainese Mesh Armour Jacket I bought....it's absolutely the best ventilated jacked I've ever worn. Mainly because it's all mesh and the armour in it is fanstastic . The back armour has aluminum honeycomb sandwiched between ventilated hard plastic type material. Anywhere you would slide on the asphalt is covered with high grade protective armour....it's a fabulous piece of protection and great for those 85 degree humid days....All my leather and textile jacket have been moved to the back of my closet now. I think it was the Wave model....

Hey Ryan, great video again. I to live in Montreal. Im seriously considering the Klim Jackets as an all around coat (touring, commuting). I want to invest in ONE good jacket (with eventually) pants for 3 seasons riding. I'm hesitating between Klim induction and Klim overland. I'm ok with layering, but there's only so much you can take off/put on too. Do you have any recommandation that would fit a daily commute for hot mid-July days when stuck on Decarie Highway and some cold spring/fall touring?
@FortNine
7 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! Between the two, I'd probably take the Overland. The Induction is a great jacket, but with the waterproof liner under the mesh layer, it will never be very warm in wet spring or fall weather. However, if it were my choice, I'd probably take the Olympia Dakar 2 over both those jackets (fortnine.ca/en/olympia-dakar-2-jacket). It's one of the few legitimate "do-it-all" jackets. Huge mesh panels (not vents.. *panels*) for July rush hour on Decarie, a waterproof layer that can be worn over *or* under the jacket, and a full thermal liner as well. If you asked me to pick ONE good jacket, that'd be it. ~RyanF9

is it possible to do a review on it sometime?
@FortNine
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have done a review, unfortunately we haven't published it yet! You're right - the skulls are stupid. Also the liner is different... it's one of those windproof shells. Has the same effect for adding some water resistance as the old liner, plus it actually folds down into one of the jacket pockets since it's super thin. To be honest I like the new liner as much as the old one... you'll just have to wear a sweater underneath for cold weather but that's no big deal. The other big benefit is that the Street Team has better armour than the Laughlin (D3O all around). If it were me, I'd get the Street Team and take a file to those damn buttons. ~RyanF9

you sold me loland I actually will take some high grit sand paper and polish them off. unfortunately there's little I can do about the stupid stitched in one.I did notice the upgrade to D3Othank you for the response about the liner, I live in Michigan so its a pity it's more windproof than thermal.

Fantastic video, Ryan! Quick question because I'm a little curious; and I suppose this goes for all of the products you review. Do you only review products that F9 carries? If so, are there any product lines you'd like to review that F9 doesn't carry? I'm just wondering if potentially being restricted with what you can review would change any of your recommendations. This doesn't just go for the jackets in this review, but for all product lines.
@FortNine
8 жыл бұрын
Hey Clive! Great question ... the answer is yes and no. I can review anything I like, whether F9 carries it or not. But I'm WAY more familiar with gear that we carry. It's the difference between taking a short stroll through our warehouse to grab something, versus pestering a manufacturer to send me a sample. Plus dealing with manufacturers is annoying, because if you tell the truth about a shitty product they might not lend you anything in the future. Having said that, there are definitely a few brands / products that I wish I had better access to (and would probably include in my videos if I did). Mitas tires, Speed and Strength, Shark helmets... ~RyanF9
