We've been doing pretty well with small spybaits and ned rigs lately. Also running 2.8 kietechs as well on a jighead with some sort of underspin or flash. They seem to be going for the smaller stuff over the past month but I'm just a weekend warrior for LSC lol

Great tips Brother. I am in the US Army and up here in Northern Michigan now for a big training exercise and I can't believe how clear the water is up here in Michigan

My go to for smallmouth has been a tube for 30 years but Im going to give that wobble head a try. We'll see how I make out. I do like that you use the heavier head to keep bottom contact.

In a lake such as Lake Simcoe which has a lot of gobies, is there a drop shot bait you might recommend? Would a larger goby looking plastic work best to get some large smallmouth in the boat?

I've had more success with the wobble head - glad to see you use it. I started using it several years ago after a talk with Zona. Keep up the great videos - I watch them whenever you produce them. 👍

Thanks Alan! Yeah, Zona was the one that turned me onto the wobble head too. It crushes them for sure

How can you tell when the fish are keyed into the bigger bait like perch or if their more keyed into the smaller bait like shiners?

Normally I can tell based on my electronics but a sure way is just to look at what they’re spitting up when they come to the surface. Those deep water fish tend to spit up a lot of bait when you’re fighting them in

All of those are in my boat too! Good stuff. Spybait drop shot and wobble all catching fish. Appreciate the insight. Thanks Ben!

I love the info you provide, but you’re losing me with all of the live scope references. It’s not an option for most recreational anglers.
