As a guy who had a lesion removed and now see my Dermatologist every six months, I have checked out a number of sunscreens too. Beauty of Joseon dries clear, and at the end of the day your skin is better than when you put it on. For me it has a tiny unpleasant smell for about 2 seconds, then none. But totally recommend. One of the LaRoche's gives me red blotchy skin, but for most people it's also nice. And for slathering it on your arms and body and even your face the Trader Joe's is just fine. My significant other uses the EltaMD and loves it. So just my take - but for sure use something!

Shiseido is the best hands down in my opinion and I’m not sure why you don’t talk about it ever especially because it’s so popular and highly rated. It’s won the Allure best of beauty award. If you don’t like it and there is something wrong with it I would be interested in knowing that info because I’ve been using it for the last two years. I will say I have tried a few you swear by because that makes me curious and I got a tan on my face through them. I did reapply. So I immediately went back to my shiseido and even laying out at the pool/beach wherever I put it I get zero color from the sun. Don’t get me wrong I would love a tan on my face but the only reason I’m wearing SPF is for anti-aging so I’m not going to wear something if it’s not even working. For people asking for oily skin I use the urban defense oil free one for every day it’s fantastic not greasy at all. I use the clear stick over makeup it doesn’t disturb my makeup and it’s a great way to reapply it’s having a moment right now on TikTok. That one does have a slight sheen but doesn’t budge. I use the face and body one for the beach and pool it’s gives a beautiful glow it’s a peachy pearl liquidy lotion that rubs in clear and I KNOW it’s working because wherever I apply it I’m white as a ghost and I don’t put it on my legs and stomach and I get tan there so maybe go to Shiseido website they have a ton of info about sunscreen and they have a powder foundation with sunscreen that I’m also going to get for the summer in the humidity just for extra shine control and coverage. Btw these are just my opinions and for those who need a sunscreen that isn’t just elegant but also does the job for the people that are exposed to the outside elements and heat and humidity and that don’t want to be a greasy mess with a white cast😅

I have Rosacea and use the Vanicream facial SPF with no issues. The only thing I don’t like about it is when I use foundation over it, the makeup tends to settle into my fine lines. I have oily skin so that doesn’t help either. I live with it anyway because my skin doesn’t tolerate other spf’s.

I have so many issues with finding a legit sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my skin or break me out. Recently got the Murad Correct & Protect Broad Spectrum SPF 45 PA+++, It goes on like a serum and SO FAR has not caused chaos on my face lol but it’s new so only time will tell. I am a huge fan of Laura Mercier, I’ve never tried the ones recommended in the video (but I will be) I’ve only worn the oil free SPF 20 tinted moisturizer one but I have high hopes for the new illuminated one 😮. Thank you, always learning with these videos : )

Amazon sells Elta MD UV Lotion, spf 30 for the body, in a 7 ounce container. It is less greasy than most.

I second this please put recommendations for mineral sunscreen that is not gonna cause sensitive “acne type reactive” skin issues.

I’m pretty sure the French ‘pharmacy’ creams have different versions for the US market, but regardless of where I buy them, I honestly can’t see the appeal of La Roche posay SPFs. Nothing pills as much. I live in France now, and of the readily available sunscreens Avene has the best stuff. Especially the fluide one - it’s great if you have oily skin like me. (A-derma is also good.)

What about the Blur from SVR? Oily skins will adore it and finally a perfume free version exists ❤

Thank you for your video. I"m curious though, as someone with melasma, I am told I need to find a sunscreen that either says 'blue light protection' on the packaging or bottle, or look for a tinted sunscreen. However, just because it's tinted, it does not automatically mean that it has blue light protection. It depends on the percentage of iron oxides and formula. Not to mention, how hard it is to find a tinted product to match a skin tone. (I'm light olive and still can't find one!). I love colour science but it is SO cost prohibitive. One bottle is $70 Canadian!

Could you talk about EWG’s ratings and their significance when choosing sunscreens?

The best thing to do is ignore the EWG entirely as it's a flawed fearmongering scam that's full of wrong information. If you want to see ingredients grades it is probably better to look at Paula's choice database.
