Hi, am curious, The parchment paper is that already pre-cut or are you cutting the sheet manually ?

Thank you! Would the 1/16 thickness be a good choice as well? Thanks again

I got a metal plate( not aluminum.because its now $26), but it's not stainless. I was going to spray paint it black. Thoughts?
@comiccapcollectibles
Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t do that. I would hit it with sandpaper and wipe it off with a mildly damp cloth. The heat could make the spray paint separate. Let me know how it goes.

@ComicCapCollectibles yes but, how do I prevent rust? Eventually it's going to collect moisture and rust

@@fordhamdonnington2738 silicone parchment paper should prevent that.

@ComicCapCollectibles I have parchment paper brand new from Aldi, which says withstands 420 deg. But it doesn't say silicon. I was going to use that

You don’t use any humidity

@@comiccapcollectibles why not with metal plates ? I’m just curious. I have done the normal method a few times with humidifier and boards. But I like your method with the metal. So I’d not have to use a bunch of backer boards. Gets expensive

@@chadmorris7891 before I got metal plate I used steam on almost every book. With metal plate you preheat it and gives u a flatter tighter press which takes out most imperfections without the use of steam.

I would have given that comic a light steam / humidity bath prior to pressing. I bet you would have had zero waves/lines in it had you done that first.

I usually do steam first. I’ve just been having good success with metal plate 90% of the time it doesn’t need it. Thx for watching
