Good stuff. Most valuable takeaway is at 3:10 - adjusting the ride height collar also adjusts preload...no way around that. Thank you for calling that out.

Teins also use a hydraulic bump stop instead of the yellow rubber one in the mpp. Makes a difference on large bumps when the shocks bottom out.

TEIN is probably cheaper since they have been doing this for a long time. They have the tools and could mass produce. MPP customer service is superb though. I would support MPP cause they R&D their tesla and test it on the track.

Awesome, since those mpp coilover are aimed for comfort, a comfort ride quality comparison will be great to see.

I was all set to buy the MPP comforts but I’m interested in the Teins. Anyone install these yet? I know the MPP is very solid and improves the ride quality while lowering and reducing body roll.

Can the Tein EFDC active control and motor kit be installed as well on the Y Tein coilovers?

@EVS Motors, I’m interested in TEIN Coilovers for my Model Y. Do you expect TEIN flex to be pretty durable? I’m just your average driver with some spirit here and there. I’m planning to keep my Model Y 100K+ miles. I’m looking for durability and low maintenance. I had my Model 3 on T-Sportline Springs for 60k miles without any issues.

Are you sure the ride quality/spring rate on the MPP's are affected by lowering the ride height as the springs should be constant rate over the entire range.
@Brian-ny4pw
Жыл бұрын
Preloading does not change spring rate but preload does change the force to start moving the shock and high preload dramatically reduces shock performance over smaller bumps and makes for a more harsh ride and worse traction… from google
