Hi Carolyn. Not to be off subject but do you think you will have a talk about the Russian invasion Ukrainians? I have been thinking about this as you studied Russia and would love to hear your take on all of this. Have others requested this? I love history and Russia has always been of interest to me. Ok, you have really had a major education on RV tires and all the do’s and don’t All of your experiences with being a nomad has been such a great help to others. You could write a book just on your past 6 years. Thank you for always sharing with us. I love the fact you don’t just show the good side of life. You share the real side of life. Hugs to you and Sadie girl ☺️

No RV here, but I have the KO2s on my van and my Subie. Had them on my 4x4 pu when I had that. My Subie was the only thing my son could use to get to work when we were snowed in. The KO2s handled a foot of snow just fine! And, while there is some road noise (not lots), it's not all that bad when you consider the benefit of tires that will safely take you where-ever you want to go. I used the first generation for many years and now these. Best tire going, in my opinion, for rugged travel.

Been watching you for years and love you! Lost my partner 2 1/2 years ago after 44 years. Decided I could afford the RV lifestyle and it would be perfect for me at this stage of my life. However, after watching all your videos and with my age (at the time 69)with two older dogs I reluctantly decided I was not 50 anymore, then had a "myopic" stroke in my left eye( blind) can still drive fine just hard doing close up things like threading a needle.. anyway I watch your Videos and live vicariously thru you and your adventures! Hello Carolyn Valve stem extenders are the worst for sure and thanks for advising people of what you and I both know from experience I watched a video on Dave's RV life and I seen him put some TPMS sensors on his valve stems that doesn't look that much bigger than valve stem caps and it has a display screen to mount on the dash to monitor your tire pressure which I thought was a very simple setup and look like something that maybe you might be interested in. Just a suggestion happy trails to you my friend be safe

Some KZitemr RV channels insist, for safety, to never travel without a TPMS. A blowout can ruin your day, or your RV. Blowouts on travel trailers have been known to cause thousands in repairs (even on new trailers, which can come equipped with cheap tires).

I have valve extenders on my RV tires and I am able to check the tire pressure on them. They are rigid and much better than what was on the tires before where I could not check the tire pressures. When I put the gauge on them before it would bend because they were flexible. What a pain they were. No problems with the new ones.

Great informative video. Once I had metal valve stems installed in my RV tires my problems with slow leaking non metal valve stems ended. I do check my tire pressures before starting to drive for the day because temperatures and elevation can affect tire pressure. I use a small air compressor that runs on AC which I can plug into my RV which has a generator. This means I can increase pressure in my tires any time I need to do so wherever I’m at. In my case I use a Michelin all weather type of tire. I chose that type of tire because of the wide range of environments and weather I experience such as paved roads, dirt forest lanes, and even some snow. The snow may have been during the night but melts during the day, or it may be encountered while drive during the day at higher altitudes.

Thanks Carolyn for another great video. I am in a minivan and do drive in places the normal driver would not go. In the UP I drove out and camped on the beach. In AZ, I drove out in the desert on the trails and through gullies. Was on the Interstate between Cleveland and Chicago on a monthly basis caring for my mother. I found that for me the all season tires were the best. Never got stuck and never got got stuck in the Georgia clay. Most times driving off road, dropping down to second gear has helped as I did get stuck when I was driving in these places in overdrive. I know my vehicle is much lighter then your vehicle and wonder if that is the reason the all season tires have worked great for me. Stay safe on your travels and give Sadie a hug and dog biscuit from me. We can buy you coffee, but not dog biscuits for Sadie... 😉.

Good Sam Platimun Roadside Assistance, includes a "road hazard" guarantee, which is supposed to include replacing a tire that blows. Haven't had to have them bring me a tire, but did have them switch my existing tires around, when I had to chain up my tag axle to get home with a new (old) RV. I blew 3 tires in 2 days (date code was from 2006 on those tires). But, hey, the new 1988 RV was only $500. It's to be my new home.

I suspect that RVs, in general, aren't great in snow. So much weight, ya' know. I wouldn't blame the tires. We had Michelins on a 32,000 pound Class A. It was terrible in just 3 inches of snow. Ended up putting on-road/off-road heavy duty tires (Bridgestones on the front, Toyo Tires on the rear (some of the Bridgestones ordered never came---supply chain problems over the six months it took to get the tires), and it's like I finally had control over the coach. Very havy sidewalls, of the Bridgestones (which made the installer cuss at them---lolol), made handling suddenly better.

Seems like you should be able to line up the rim holes, to see your metal valve stems, and find the appropriate air pressure gauge (and filler), to reach through, to do things. Your tire guy should have lined up the rim's holes. Getting to the stem, is either going to be slightly angled, or a right angle. That depends on the exact rim. Gauges (and inflator connectors), can be "had" on pipes, which let you get in there. They can be made up of brass pipe fittings, too.

@@CarolynsRVLife And, I see that you found the right equipment, to reach in there. I had trouble inflating my tires, at a station, because their inflator wouldn't match the angle of the stem, on that inside tire. I'll buy my own compressor, when I can. All the DP have built in compressors, due to their air brakes, but they should build them in, for all us RVers---any one with duallys.
