@@VacuumWars Tests vs. Real world is always a factor, but I think you all tried to be fair. As a central vac owner, I'm all about upgrading that rather than getting a noisy heavy thing to push around. Although I'm not in the market for anything vacuum related, I appreciate the technology. A good CV is like a hot rod, you can accessorize it however you want, upgrade the motor power, etc.... and that's my style.

I just bought a Sebo Felix the other day, and couldn't be happier. It also has a lift away mode as well, but you gave it no points. I paid $599 for the Sebo, not much more than the Dyson which you gave 15 points, but 0 to the Felix. You could have also given the Sebo extra points for its 10 year warranty. My last vacuum was a Shark, and it was awful with pet hair. I would constantly have to stop vacuuming to cut hair out of the roller. But the worst was it constantly getting clogged before it even made it until the dust bin. Maybe it was the model I had, but it was enough to keep me from ever buying a Shark again. If people think a Shark is better than a Sebo, they clearly have never used one.
@Susan70003

Is your Felix bagged? I am pretty sure Performance Reviews does testing on particulates and even though the Hepa filter is on a shark they often leak around that hepa. Performance reviews has tested a lot of sharks and won't give them a pass for that reason. Plus you don't have to worry about the dust bin dust cloud every time you empty it because you have it all bagged. How easy is taking the Felix roller out for cleaning?

The DC25 is the easiest to push as its a Ball style with freshly cleaned filters on thick rug but the DC27 pet & DC28 pet get ridiculous hard to push & pull with freshly cleaned and not so clean filters on any rug but the DC28 pet is by far the worst. I've sent it in to Dyson for repair and a week later it became the biggest waste of money. It has to be a design issue. Heres the kicker I have my grandmother's 1929 Hoover upright and eventhough it doesn't have a HEPA filter it out performs all three of my Dyson's for it age. Pet hair gets sucked in really easily on a wooden floor, on a carpet one needs a brush. But all reviews so far are useless, because the real world is all about brush and filter cleaning. I have 7 different vacuum cleaners, and only the one with a water filter can be called a universal one, though heavy. Hepa filters get clogged very fast, and VCs lose suction quickly. I have the most powerful stick VC, but it only blows great, doesn't suck - I had to remove the rotating brush and now pickup only the fur off the wooden floor. Need a new filter.

Dyson’s battery won’t last past a couple years at best-meaning the power and strength greatly declines. You want the best upright on the market? Get a Sebo X series. They are meant to last for years and are a commercial company so their products are designed to last for many years without performance declining. Dyson uses cheap parts

I am so glad I found your channel! I just posted a rant to my friends with a link after seeing an ad for the Shark APEX DuoClean w/ Zero M Powered Lift-Away. "Is anyone else obsessed with vacuum cleaners? I have recently admitted that I am, and have been since Otter became the first in a series of large, double-coated, very long-haired dogs sharing our homes. I've gone through so many vacuums - cannister, shop, upright, bagless, bagged - but our combo of conditions have thwarted them all. The latest (Kenmore Elite 31150) lasted for fewer than five uses. No pet tool attachment has ever worked beyond the first use. I've even drawn up diagrams of my ideas for vacuum cleaner improvement inventions! Here's my latest flirtation. How much do you want to bet that Annabelle's hair can defeat the Zero M feature within five minutes? But part of me still holds out hope..." So your review has given this two-huge-fluffy-long-haired-perpetually-shedding-dog-household hope.

I love my Shark vacuum. I am sharing this with you because I used to not care about my vacuum but I bought a Shark Navigator a few years back, I accidentally dropped it and a small plastic piece broke that allows the vacuum to swivel. I called the company to see if I could buy a replacement part but instead they paid for me to ship the vacuum back to them and sent me a new one. I could not believe they did that for me because it was my fault I broke it but they said it was more important to them that I have a great vacuum that is not broken even if it was my error that caused it to break. I have been a loyal customer since that moment not just because of their customer service but because they have great products. I now own 3 Shark vacuums one for each floor of my home, my oldest vacuum is used in my basement, my rotator upstairs and my duo clean on the main floor. I would have to say I love the duo clean the most because it picks up anything with the dual rollers and it is so lightweight. FYI Update. Now, I even bought the newest shark IQ robot vacuum with self empty and wow do I love that thing. My floors are always clean, it is expensive but worth every penny.

The hair was constantly wrapped around the roller and at one point when I went to clean the roller, once cleaned after turning it back on it began vibrating so loudly it sounded as if something in the components holding the roller in place became warped... not sure. It no longer would clean my carpets leaving debris that even the cheapest vacuum on earth could have picked up. This was about 9 months later. At any rate it was a complete waste of money and was sent to my husbands shop with cement floors to use because his employees don't mind the obnoxious loud sound it now makes. Shark comes out on top of many reviews but they have a HORRIBLE track record for their customer service & honoring their warranty if something goes wrong. Your only recourse is if you buy a Shark buy it from a retailer like Bed Bath or Amazon that have great return polices. Otherwise you could be stuck with a heavy expensive paperweight since Shark will most likely not treat you well. That’s the only reason I went with a Dyson over a Shark.

As a Shark owner all I can say is they DO NOT LAST. I had hoses that were barely used, vacuum used almost strictly in upright carpet mode, failing within a year. If someone has a Shark and claim it's the best vacuum they've ever had then they have not had that much experience with vacuums. In fact you can even check other channels for how shit breaks on them. Their hoses suck, and not in the good suction way. They fail quickly. They may have hit on something with the Zero M and how it keeps pet hair from wrapping but that doesn't negate the failure of components that shouldn't fail as fast as they do. I'll take having to clean a beater bar occasionally over parts that fail way before they should.

Dog pet owners also need to pick up stuffing from toys that have been chewed open! Perhaps add stuffing to your tests? 😊 (Side note: Our bagless Hoover Windtunnel does a horrible job with that. The stuffing gets jammed in the narrow space between the hose opening and metal “core” in the canister, then the hot metal core scorches the stuffing! We didn’t have an actual fire, fortunately, but it seems possible.)

I’ve used a shark for years. I have 3 dogs, and 3 cats. (Big house). Carpet in most rooms, and always have my family’s dogs over as well. I have to vacuum all. The. Time. I will always choose a shark over the dyson. ALWAYS.

2 Huskies=Dyson V10. Thats whats happening. When u must vacuum every 2 hours or so, u do NOT want a cord and u do want maneuverability since hair gets everywhere and under everything! Also V10 looked to clean the last carpet best of all to my eyes.

That shark really did quite well considering the price they sell at! I hate Dyson, I've never seen so many problems with any other upright bagless. How does the shark compare with the high end bag canister vacs like the Miele c2 that people seem to rave about? Is that really worth the extra investment for someone with two dogs and two floors to clean, and a mix of hardwood and high pile carpet?

In the Sebo review video you poured flour under a rug. The Sebo beat the Shark in that test but failed your deep clean test. I own a Dyson DC 07, Shark NV22 and Dyson V8 Absolute. I'm thinking of returning the Dyson and getting something else but I don't know what to get. I'd like to replace all the units I have.

The sharks do not have anywhere near the reliability and longevity of Sebo. S class filtration is hospital grade. 0.03 micron less than Hepa. I can tell you, I used work in a lab testing hepa filters and as it was an internal lab of the manufacturers, they never really ever met specification. In other words, they regularly failed to arrest particulates sufficiently or to spec. Don't always buy what is being sold to you....

Bag-less Vacuums are quite popular, but the Bissell one we tried, was quite messy when we emptied it and clogged filters that we had to clean or replace. Unless there are differences to consider, so far we prefer our bagged unit. It would be good to see a comparison, I heard one of the Dysons uses cleanable filters? Thank you. Tony

I had a shark professional top of the line and thought it was great. That is until I got the Dyson ball animal 2. I cannot believe the suction power. It is incredible. I have thick carpet and two dogs and they both shed and it picks it up. You wouldn’t believe the amount of stuff that the dyson picks up. It sucks so hard I can’t go over rugs or it sucks them up. The shark won’t do that. Is it the best? I don’t know. I do know that it works very well. Also, I have really thick carpet and my dyson never bogs down.

I have to give a huge "THANK YOU!!" to this channel for helping us decide what vacuum we should get. We love our Shark Navigator but after a few too many falls down the stairs and children stepping on the chord while vacuuming it was time to replace and upgrade. We have four cats, two of whom shed A LOT and needed a vacuum that would handle everything we needed it to handle. We ended up getting the Shark Apex Power Lift Away with Zero M. We love this thing! We also lucked out as we got a free bonus with the motorized pet brush. Our living room carpet looks revitalized already. Thanks for all your help.

@wildbill23c

I wonder this too, although he lowered the score on the Kenmore Elite vacuum because of its weight, so I'm sure he'd do the same with a Kirby. Sometimes a lightweight vacuum...err typically when you buy a lightweight vacuum you are getting a plastic piece of crap that won't last long, and the past several generations of Kirby vacuums are self propelled so you aren't doing much muscle work when using them now compared to the older models....Kirby uses bags now too so gone are the days of shaking out the cloth bag and emptying the contents and making a mess. I don't have a Kirby but I want to get one, my grandparents had one for 40+ years. The newer ones are great. We also have an old 70's model Rainbow vacuum....I think they may have been the first company to actually have a hypo-allergenic vacuum and at the time didn't know what they really had as it uses a water bath to trap debris, so the exhaust air coming out is pretty clean, and there aren't any filters on the old ones. I think the new/newer versions have a HEPA filter now too. I really want a newer Kirby I see them all the time for a few hundred bucks on local sale pages. I have laminate floors in the house now though so not really sure how useful a Kirby would be anymore though.

nothing has better price/performance ratio than a Dyson V7 absolute or V8 for more performance/bigger bin, V10 still too expensive and V6 too small. And we clean everything in our house with 200qm+, mostly hard floor, but also often on the few carpets and couch since we have 3 cats. its so nice to clean much different places with a lightweight cordless vac.
@FrickDude824

I really appreciate all the testing you do and like your reviews, but I'd like a better test with longer hair rather than pet hair. My wife has long thick hair that is constantly falling out all over the house. She's always got a little clump after every shower and there's always hair in the high traffic hallways or bedroom floor and it always tangles in the brush roller. That's what I want to see tested. Not these little clumps of hair sitting on top of the carpet. That's what I want to see if the ZeroM tech can handle. That would be a more helpful and practice review or test for me.

@Samuelfish2k

So just spinkle some “pet hair” onto a new short pile carpet and immediately vacuum it up? Pfft.. I could’ve swept that pet hair off. That test is so unrealistic. In the real world, pet hair gradually accumulates on a daily basis and gets packed into the carpet fibers thanks to us walking around the house all day.. By the time you get around to vacuuming it could be 7 days or even more. Lets say it’s been 11 days, that pet hair would be embedded into the carpet fibers and then I’d like to see the results from these contestants. This so called “test” was completely useless.
@VacuumWars

For what its worth I stomped on all that pet hair for about 5 minutes, trying to grind it in to the carpet, but I agree its not a great real world test.

Question about the V10 - Did the brushroll get tangled with debris any more than the Sharks with "0 M"? I'll bet it didn't and Dyson doesn't even have to call it a feature. 0 M is a fix for a defect, not a feature, IMO.

Great Video! I noticed you have thoroughly tested the Apex Shark line, specifically the AZ1000 and AX951. But I have never seen you mention the AX912! Shark lists this as an Apex "Speed" vacuum and it seems to be a smaller, lighter Apex DuoClean Powered Lift-Away. I'm trying to decide between the Apex AX912 and your favorite NV800, which seem to have a lot in common. Both are DuoClean, Powered Lift Away, and of the "Speed" line. Both are similar weight at 14.8lb and 14.5lb respectively. One of the big differences however is the AX912 appears to have a smaller motor (7.5 amp) than the NV800 series (9.2 amp). Have you tested the AX912? Any chance you can get one in for review?

How did you score the v10 for cord length...also it's not really fair to judge a vacuums overall performance then throw in a bad score for price, just judge it on actual performance and leave out the price.

I own the apex zero M & agree its pretty great, for a vacuum. If you sign up for their marketing emails then wait for the 20-25% off sales, they are not that expensive at all. That little motorized brush is great as well & has a storage spot on the vac for it.
