Looks awesome! Great tips on how to process the jackfruit. Couple things I would add: 1. Simmer the jackfruit in broth for a more intense flavor. 2. If you do squeeze the moisture out, try using a cheese cloth or terry cloth towel, or use your mesh strainer and push on it with a hard spoon. 3. A meat tenderizer works well to shred it on a flat surface. 4. The heat in peppers doesn’t come from the seeds, but rather the veins inside the peppers. 5. The jackfruit would actually shred naturally while simmering in the sauce.

Jackfruit is such an amazing substitute for meat. One time at my workplace they had bbq shredded meat and they also had the vegetarian version. Once I started eating it, I straight up thought I was eating meat and that they gave me the meat version by mistake. I rinsed off the bbq and saw that little hole where the seed would have been and realized it was the jackfruit. I was shooketh and now I'm surfing the web for more recipes! another option, which I like, is Butler soy curls. They are a "clean" soy product that come dried, You just rehydrate with some veggie or chicken broth, squeeze that out, and then they can be chopped lengthwise, like shredded meat then used as the jackfruit was. I like the soy curls because, unlike the jackfruit, they add nice protein. I like the sauce recipe and will def try it.

If you have a dehydrator, dehydrating the jackfruit before cooking it (the stage where you’re trying to remove all the water) gives it an unbelievably amazing texture and really just makes everyone *perfect*! Give it a try!

Veggy Sephy if you use the packaged kind, not canned, you pretty much only have to warm it. Edward and sons makes whole, shredded, and I think they or Frontier has a huge bag. I make them for tacos, burritos - season with cumin, chili, barbecue sauce sometimes - a potato, onion plant meat dish, and heat store bought pureed butternut squash soup in the pot I'll eat it out of, add diced tomatoes on top, maybe zucchini, then jackfruit that I have already season with aminos, cumin, chili, coriander, and anything I think will fit in with the other part of the soup. The packaged jackfruit just sits on top until it gets hot, the soup is ready, delicious.
