Great video! 👍 How long did it take you to bleed the brakes this way? I have a 1996 Polaris Magnum that has very soft brakes in the rear.

I only had the one caliper to do so it was quick. Once the air is gone the lever can finish the job. But definitely remove all of the old fluid. If you have a sacrificial vacuum you could get all of them done quickly. Good luck. If you use a vacuum video it. I haven't tried it yet but I'm thinking...

@@Rusted_Link Ok thanks for quick answer! 👍 I dont have a vacuum so i has to do it way you did it. I think i would start on the caliper furthest away from the where the container for the brake fluid is on my 6x6.

@@BSS22193 yep, also use a long piece of hose so that there's less chance of getting that stuff in your mouth. Trust me when I say it tastes horrible.

Necessity is the mother of all invention, I didn't have a mighty vac or a pneumatic system so I did the next best thing. But hey I got it done.

Some things you could have explained: engine running? Master cylinder open or closed? A little process explanation would have gone a long way.

You suck on the tube. That's it. Other than that apply standard bleeding processes like keep the fluid full. I have found that the lever simply will not supply enough pressure to bleed the system quickly. You could use a brake bleeding hand pump but I didn't have one. This process is quick and easy.

For anyone who sees this and needs an explanation even though you shouldn't need it.. Step 1: Attach one end of tube to brake bleeder and loosen the valve. Step 2: Use your mouth and suck on the line until tube fills up, close valve. Do this on each side quite a few times and you will gain brake pressure. DO NOT KEEP PULLING BRAKE LEVER IN.. trying to bleed these brakes like a car just will not work. Thank you for posting this... I had this same issue on my CBR and had to have someone bleed the front brake for me. Just replaced pads on daughters ATV and ran into the same issue.. this fixed it quick.

Do I have to take the brake lever fluid top off a few times to add clean brake fluid to the reservoir every time I suck fluid thru the hose - ? Because the reservoir is small and sucking the hose takes a lot of the fluid out - ? Thanks

Apply suction. Not a difficult concept but welcome to the hate on my video band wagon. Bleeding brakes on a four-wheeler not the same as bleeding brakes on the car it cannot do it by pumping the lever.

The only thing he didn't show is that you pump and hold the brake down and open then close the bleeder screw to let off the pressure. It's basically common sense for everyone watching

Well no. I didn't show that I literally suck on the line to pull the air and clean fluid through. You CAN NOT PUMP ATV brakes to bleed them. Using a hand pump which I did not have at the time or your mouth or a vacuum is the only way that I've found.
