You never, ever, dip your shock cap in water and then screw it on wet. Oil and water dont mix dude. You might as well leave all the air bubbles in the oil. Same effect. Definately one of the best 'how not to do' videos!

Nice video dude just what I was looking for, no “Mr. RC Expert” attitude (like some commenters below) and straight up easy to use info. Well done.

BC Drummer no one is being a “mr rc expert” this was a terrible tutorial. He used pliers right on the dampening threads on the shock....

Aside of the mistakes made , but thats not what I was here for . I needed to know how the shock came apart , do you know what oil to use?? This kid didn't give any details why he uses 30 and I see 2000 . Whatever (I have literally no experience on rc cars)

Thinking of using one or a couple of these shock absorbers to mound a hand held gimble to a bike. Which I could then stream via cell phone. How much weight can these shocks support?

also. Use simple green to clean the exteriors of the shocks! Or any de-greaser. Takes that grit right off. Great video too and proper explanation. Doing my first one soon I can clean these buggers like a champ but learning how to upgrade and tune them is next!

Ear buds I always thought you used those to listen to music your I was told never use water supposed to use WD40 because it’s metal and water will cause it to rust and stick on the shaft

im just gonna go ahead and say with that much actual dirt inside your shock its probably time for a rebuild. A) that dirt got inside for a reason and B) thats just a bunch of grit grinding away at the internals.
