You guys are amazing! My husband and I sold everything to travel the world for the next five years, and you guys have been our biggest inspiration. We’ve learned so much from watching your videos. Sorry if this sounds weird, but we feel like we would really get along. Lol. When we watch your videos, it feels like we are watching old friends. You guys are our Casey Neistat. Thank you for all that you guys do to bring the world to our living rooms and giving people a few good minutes to forget whatever it is they are going through in real life. So much love and appreciation, Annette and Daniel Fortner

Bagan is an ancient city in central Myanmar (formerly Burma), southwest of Mandalay. Standing on the eastern banks of the Ayeyarwady River, it’s known for the Bagan Archaeological Area, where more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments tower over green plains. Holy sites around Old Bagan include ornate Ananda Temple, built in 1091 and topped with a golden stupa. Nearby is the vast 12th-century Dhammayangyi Temple. Also in Old Bagan lie intricately carved Thatbyinnyu, one of the city’s tallest temples, and the huge Hindi temple Nathlaung Kyaung. The riverside Bagan Archaeological Museum exhibits sacred artifacts. Shwezigon Pagoda, also set along the meandering Ayeyarwady River, is a gilded temple dating back to the 11th century. Between the museum and the pagoda, Htilominlo Temple rises dramatically above the trees, while red-stone Sulamani Temple contains painted Buddha statues. New Bagan and Nyaung-U are modern settlements close to the monuments. Southeast of Bagan, Mt. Popa National Park is home to an extinct volcano.

Burmese here. Before all the "Rohingya" comments. Learn the stories from both side, people. It's all about Geopolitics. China/Russia vs Western Power. Rakhine is China's access towards Indian Ocean through Bay of Bengal (apart of its belt and road initiative). Of course, the Western Powers don't like it. Hence, all the negative press against Myanmar in major media conglomerates. If you actually read history, there is literally no Rohingya in the country. It's complex. Research first, don't prematurely arrive to conclusion base on very little information. Thanks Kara and Nate for visiting our lovely country.

Hey guys, a stupa and pagoda is essentially the same thing different words which refers to the pointy cone structures that you cannot enter, a temple is the religious buildings that you can enter, and the whole structural religious complex is called a monastary which is where the monks stay in and has both temples and pagodas and other buildings.

Between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries, more than ten thousands pagodas, temples, and monasteries were built over a 67 square kilometer area around the city. Over two thousand of them remain, and some are in pretty good condition, considering their age and the two large earthquakes (1975 and 2016) that have hit the area in recent times.

Its the paste of a herbal tree bark. Burmese wear it as a natural sun block, skin cooling and heaing, and also as a natural cosmetics everyday since ancient time. The tree is called Thet Nat Kha, like Sandal wood tree. The bark is grinded on a specially made stone slab with some water and the paste comes out. Thats not a religious thing but cultural traditional thing. A part of culture and lifestyle and burmese herbal medicine.

Love travelling with you by watching your videos! FYI, the ladies wearing the copper coil are of the Karen tribe. They are neither Thai nor Burmese. You will find them in both countries. The purpose of the copper coils, which gets added to as they get older, is to lenghten their necks. Long necks are considered to be beautiful.

Yes, they are native to Burma and have their own state in Burma called Kayin State and they are one of 8 big ethnicities of Myanmar which has its own state - Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Burma, Mon, Rakhine, Shan. The people who wear neck rings are called Ka Yan, a race close to Ka Yin and Ka Yah. Their native homeland is Burma but coz of civil war, they resorted to move and live in the Thailand border side.

We rented the ebikes as well and even though there are pagodas every where you look, they never get old!!!
