@@losheroes6076I had the same problem. I found where the water was coming in & I used Hydraulic Cement and filled in the area. It can be used as there’s water coming in. Stops the leak in minutes. Then I found my drainage problem. It was my patio. The patio is above my basement…

Just finished mine today in way too hot South Louisiana heat and humidity on a brand new build. Much prefer over gutters. Gutters clog, rip off, cause rot, need maintenence etc.. I mainly did it to protect my paint when mud would splash up on the house.

I have no gutters and love it. A good drip line trench is not only better for your roof, soffit and fascia, it can also be worked into your landscape with an attractive dry riverbed look-that's what I've done.

I've stayed gutterless because we freeze solid so gutters simply plug with ice, pull away, and back water up into soffit. I am digging depressions in my drip line for lava rock trenches.

what about pouring concrete up against the foundation, like a sidewalk all around the house, rather than the gravel

Make edge lines between the gravel and grass to give it a clean finish. The cement slabs seem to sag in certain spots and overtime it starts to look uneven & tacky. Just an opinion

I thought my drip line problems were bad. If I had your house I would have nightmares every night about the yard. I just put gravel I got off the streets after a big snow into my drip line. Pea size and less. We will see when it rains how good that works.

Gutters work great where there are very few trees. Gutters DO NOT WORK where there are a lot of trees. Gutter guards of any kind DO NOT WORK. Lots of trees, rock is your best choice. I also recommend 6mil plastic or at least 3/4" EXP foam board sloped away from the foundation and 3" of compactable rock on top of the foam.

Nice, I was thinking about doing this all around my home and shed. N.W FL here. I was gonna use sand and dirt to start then lay a weed barrier then the drainage rock

With that dirt pulled up above weep holes in the brick, you will get termites. Fact.

Thx for the vid…i am landscraping my flower beds that are up agains the house…i was overthinking and thought oh no, by putting gravel and white rock right up against the house, am i creating a situation where I am attracting water to the house instead of away? but you cleared that up. The rock will help usher the water away and even encourage the water to evaporate quicker… without the rock, i have the gutters…. For my gutters, i have to install better downspouts and straighten them out. But by adding rock, graded, water will be escorted away if the gutters fail. I was planning on doing plastic garbage bags in lieu of fabric, gravel mix, course sand then white rock. Does that sound right?
