Nice review Pete, I definitely get the utility thing. However paying more doesn't always mean you get a quality product, bought some £60 Goodyear safety trainers and the rubber sole wore through to the sponge bit in 3 months! They were the dearest trainers in Tool Station. I prefer trainer style for driving as it's easier to bend your ankle, they also look better with shorts but that's just a vanity thing.

Have you tried Buckler safety boots? The build quality is excellent and they're very comfortable and wide-fitting in the toe box.

I keep mine in my bag,I drive in my trainer's much more comfortable, I only put them on when I have to and when I'm off site my trainer's go straight back on. In 18 months I can count on one hand how many times I've worn my boots!

Also think it is quite dangerous to drive with the boots because you can't feel the pedals properly.

Cheapest Ankle boots from Toolstation.Have done 12 months with Hermes and still going strong after 18mths.Wear them all the time.Main PPE issue I have at moment is blue powderless nitrile gloves are excellent grip for driving but you can't rely on regular supply and prices for box of 100 varying from £9.99-14.99.They also work with smartphone.Thicker machine washable work gloves with rubber palm(£2.99 for 2 pairs Amazon) not as good grip.

Neptune Dealer Boots are the best boots i've had, £60 when i bought them 7 years ago, still cost the same, seem to be a British company, first two weeks they're like diving boots (don't bend) after that V comfortable, wear them nearly every day, don't look bad either.

hi, have you, or anyone on here heard of a company called ABG Transport Services LTD based out of Scotland? They approached me to drive for them as a self employed driver, but using their van delivering white goods and furniture from a warehouse in Spennymoor for AO.com
