I really enjoy your videos and appreciate that you focus on an age group over 12! Many of the makeup videos on KZitem are presented by talented but very young women. It's hard to take seriously the claims of an anti-aging product from someone who is 25 and doesn't have a true wrinkle on their face to cover. I always find your insights helpful and share many of the same skin concerns although my skin is very dry. I would love it if you would make note of products that you recommend for drier skin types. Please keep up the good work...oh, and you look stunning for 50. Thanks, Lisa

I am 60 (yikes) and have been trying a bunch of foundations this year. I think my favorite for full coverage is the Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup, Oil Free Foundation. It covers better than Chanel Vitalumiere but feels smooth and lightweight. I really enjoyed the way you did this video! Thanks.

I love your reviews. They are thorough and down to earth. I am also 50 and my little trick is to mix illuminator with my high spf primer to give my skin an inner glow and help soften the look of any lines. I apply concealer only where I need it and then apply a tinted high spf moisturiser. I set my makeup base with a little finely milled transparent loose face powder using a kabuki brush. I have always loved my makeup and even trained as a Makeup Artist but I have to say that past 50 LESS IS MORE girls. Only apply enough makeup to look polished and glowing. You know what works for you and it shows. You look great.

What an endorsement for the Estée Lauder! I might see if I can snag a sample, particularly based on that forehead description. My forehead and nose go to hell in a hand basket by the end of the day if not sooner. Thanks for all the work you put into this video. Reading the descriptions, showing the application, then how it wore throughout the day was top to bottom!

EL really is an awesome line. Love their Take it Away product also. It's a cream that you apply at night and completely removes all your makeup including eye makeup. It's awesome. I've been using that for years. It works great. Really like their mascara also. Great review as always Angie. Happy Birthday to your daughter.

I know this video is from 3 years ago and I have seen your more current videos from this month and you look so awesome there. But looking at this video now, in which you haven't had the effect of skincare and skin procedures yet, I still say that I wish I looked has as good as you do on these videos when I am fifty. You look so beautiful. Also, I love how thorough you are in talking about these things. I'm 41, and I wish I were as thorough as you are in dealing with skincare and makeup when i was in my twenties. Now that my skin has aged, I regret not taking care of it when I was younger. Ugh.

Hi Everyone~ If you asked me a question and I didn't reply, it's because KZitem doesn't allow me to reply to some comments. I don't know why, but for some of you there's a "Reply" button below your comment, and for others, there's only the thumbs up and down icons (no reply button)... So, if you really, really need an answer, please send your question to my inbox. Thanks.

Thanks so much for doing this video. I've been using samples of liquids, BBs, & CCs for the last 10 months! - ever since I returned to the US to find that Bobbi Brown had discontinued my HG foundation. I've tried at least 30+ different options and all either slid off my t-zone, enlarged pores, settled into lines, or disappeared after a few hours. I never thought to try Estee Lauder. Growing up, I always saw that as an "old lady" brand, but I guess I'm an "old lady" now, so thanks for the tip.

So far, I love it more than others...Wow big surprise on the Paula's Choice! I think there are mistakes in her reviews, prolly the stuff her younger co-writers test...just does not work on older skin w/dry patches and large pores... thank goodness my beauty blender sheers out the medium-full coverage foundations .Hourglass was too yellow on me. Thanks for such an informative video. I am almost 35 with combination skin that I can easily dehydrate between my anti-acne creams and my desire to control oil throughout the day. The only one of these foundations that I tried was Hourglass Immaculate. I returned it because it made me look like a dried out bone on the cheeks, offered minimal coverage, and didn't control oil at the t-zone.

Omg, thank you so much for all this info. In my 30s I had some work done, plus your garden variety sculptra and quarterly Botox routine. Fast forward.. I'm now 47, sitting at home unable to work for the next month, recovering from a total hysterectomy 😳. The upside... I'll finally have time to use me RF machine and Derma pen, but quite honestly am terrified I'll shrivel into a prune! Lol. Anyway you have been keeping me company during my recovery, and preparing me for the next level that I'm entering a bit earlier than initially expected. The surgery came about rather quickly so the learning curve is large. I cannot thank you enough and I find the drawers I have of items in line with your reviews... Wish I would have found you sooner😃. I'm curious if you ever reviewed Estée Lauder Double Wear which has been my go to foundation forever. I usually buy two shades and adjust if I spray tan. I hope I can continue wearing in "instant menapause". Ty, Carrie❤️💋😇

I too have large pores and both LG Balance and Brighten and Lorac Porefection look great and minimize the look of pores. I'm 53 and I think I found my holy grail foundation quite unexpectedly. I recently tried a sample of Marc Jacobs new gel foundation. I've always avoided this brand because I considered it way over priced so I was very surprised to find I loved it. It is light coverage that is build able. I like that it looks like my skin but better instead of cakey or overly dewy. I think as we age we all have very unique needs so our holy grail foundations will vary dramatically. I have a foundation graveyard in my vanity drawer to prove it lol. Thanks so much Angie for all your great videos.

You might want to get a sample of the Lorac CC cream. I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised. Everytime I looked in the mirror, I actually liked what I saw. Even the girls at the Chanel counter commented (continuously, and asked me to write it down) about how good my skin looked. You will need a powder with it, I use the Lorac Porefection, which can be used as a powder foundation. Your Laura Geller should work, I haven't tried it with that yet.

ALMAY is my "go-to" brand of foundation for my 66 year old skin ... I use both the ALMAY CLEAR COMPLEXION MAKUP with BlemisHeal TECHNOLOGY in color 160 "naked" and ALMAY SMART SHADE ANTI-AGING MAKEUP with SPF 20 in color 100 "pale" ... they are both oil-free ... the interesting thing about this last makeup is that it looks VERY light when you first squeeze it out but it has little color buds that break open when applied to give a beautiful blending ... I am blessed with decent skin and mainly look for overall skin tone evening from my foundation, which I then set with a classic Coty loose powder ... definitely Drug Store prices.

Hi Angie! Great video! I'll certainly be getting a sample of the Estee Lauder foundation :-) I just turned 47 in April and have been searching for a holy grail foundation too. In spite of trying lots of high end foundations like Chanel and Armani, the one I've actually been loving is the Cover Girl Stay Fabulous foundation. I think when you use your fingertips vs a sponge makes all the difference in the world when it comes to coverage. Im still looking for a foundation that Im satisfied with. I was a makeup artist/hairdresser for years but since I left the industry I sort of lost touch with what works and what doesn't. I went from the very expensive to the cheaper, drugstore foundations and haven't been able to find what works for me. I am your age but my skin is darker. I cant find anything that will cover dark spots/circles and fine lines without making my face look too heavy close up. I hate the heaviness of a foundation. I used to use bare minerals and loved the feeling and the way my skin looked but as I am older the coverage isn't working as it use to. Have you ever used the Bare Minerals? I truly think being a man is just so much easier : ) Thanks so much!

Im 50 and have sampled a lot of foundations. EL invisible fluid worked for me too. I will be purchasing it. EL double wear light made my pores look huge. I find putting a dab of white moisturizer or sunscreen with your foundation makes most foundations more forgiving on mature skin, more like a tinted moisturizer I hated Nars sheer glow. Not sure if you will see this or not, since the video is rather old...but let me make a suggestion for your "Holy grail"foundation. It most certainly is mine!!! Borghese Hydro Minerali NATURAL finish!!! "Natural" is the key...they make one in a creme finish in almost exactly the same packaging. That one doesn't have the same miracle finish. It is cheaper to buy online, but I'd suggest finding out what color works for you in your local Lord & Taylor. For me #4 is perfection, but you look like you are fairer than me. I used to wear Estee Lauder many years back, and to say this is far superior is quite an understatement! I've yet to find any foundation half as good. It gives you a perfect canvas to smooth, natural skin that then works with either a soft, natural look OR a full blown intensively made up look. While not cheap, if you wait until there is a 30 or 40% off sale, it certainly is reasonable, and a tube lasts nearly a year!! Let me know what you think :D PS ask them for sample of their Fango Mud Mask. That stuff is amazing for ALL ages. It's another must in my beauty arsenal!!

I am using the Estee Lauder Resilience Lift & love it! Much better than the Lancome that I normally wear. Just found you here on y.t. Happy that I found you.

I didn't like the Hourglass on you at all , the Giorgio Armani looks good ( I might have a look at that one mmmm) Yey Estee Lauder rules !!! lol and it looked so good on you. I am so glad you found something that you like- Halleluyah lol. Sometimes you need to buy two colors and mix to get a perfect match, I do that with my EL foundations. xoxo Nisha

Great review! Very thorough with lots of great details. I think I will stop by the EL counter for a sample. Thank you!

Angie, you look so fresh and beautiful! I have been wanting to try hourglass products. Pretty pricey though for a foundation that is not a #10. Thanks for your advice, much appreciated. Have a great day!

I'm 52, never really needed or liked to wear foundation until my mid to late 40s when my skin started to change for the worse. I tried numerous brands and types of foundations, and they either made my wrinkles look worse, or dried out my skin, or just felt heavy and bothersome. That was until I tried Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup foundation. Honestly, Angie is so right about this stuff--it goes on very easily, it gives good coverage without being heavy, smoothes my skin tone out, and my skin looks better while wearing it. I don't even feel like I have any makeup on my face. For someone who isn't comfortable wearing foundation, this one is really great. I let the woman at the Estee Lauder counter match my color and she did a great job. Am so glad she showed me this product. It is my holy grail of foundations. That is, unless I find out that cc cream is even lighter feeling with decent coverage. Haven't tried any of that yet.

Hi Sherry~ I've tried LOTS of CC & BB creams, and I don't think you'll find one you like as much as your EL foundation... but if you do, please let us know!!

great video. very helpful. I'm fifty one and no what you mean about finding a foundation that meets all the requirements. I really hate foundations that sit in my pores . Very tricky. Looks like I'll have to get a sample of the estee lauder foundation. That really does look good on you. Thanks for this video!
