A very naïve thought to be honest. Like Scholes mentioned there are many things to take care of in order to get the deal over the line. Man is just thinking about his OWN happiness without thinking about the player's choice. First question is utterly ridiculous. A week to get transfers done? What about early season injuries, the capacity of smaller clubs recruitment teams, capacity of the medical staff. Not to mention the exceptional pressure it would add to players to make the decision if they want to change clubs in what would effectively be a day. Utterly insane & clearly not thought through.

When you look at the in/outs of clubs after a window, it can be as much as 6-10 in and 20+ out, imagine orchestrating that within a week, the logistics of travel, getting the players accommodation, the medical staff being on top of it, not to mention all of the contracts that will need sorting. They'd be sorting 3-4 players/contracts a day, that's ridiculous, crazy

The guy stating transfer window should only be a week is typical of arrogant, close minded EPL fans. No concept that most clubs across the world have to balance budgets and if someone comes in for a player, they need to try line up a replacement. Also that transfers have a knock on effect down the leagues I terms of budgets etc. Having a week is a nonsense. It would kill small clubs, transfer fees would be reduced to only the highest leagues. Everything else would turn into free transfers ans loans

You also have to understand that a lot of that goes to various things down the leagues as well as Tax, it's also not a million miles off to expect the player to want some form of security (gated off / concierge) all it takes is one lunatic to make him or the family fear for their lives. You ain't getting that for £1k a month rent.

unrealistic for them to be able to relocate a family into a new place in 1-2 weeks is unreasonable. How long does it take conveyancing etc. At PL clubs they have places they rent out for a player to stay temporarily.

A week transfer window is simply a nonsense idea. That guy hasn't got a clue what's he talking about. I'm glad Scholes explained it. Deals take months to get concluded. Maybe the window could get shorter, I agree about the idea of closing it before the season starts, that's very fair. But surely it would have to open for at least a month surely. Oh and have 0/100 with your weak foot. Sancho was 2 years of torture to get him. Showed F all, caused pandemonium in the dressing room and acted like a 3 year old. Antony isn't near the worst purely because he contributed to winning an FAcup in a season where ManUtd were otherwise hopeless he got the equaliser to force extra-time vs Liverpool on a foot people say he can't use (which I find baffling because football in general is of such lower quality than before because there are so many 1-footed players that aren't criticised enough for it but people say it all the time for him). Berbatov was 1of the worst considering the amount of trophies and records he cost ManUtd when he was also the most expensive signing at the time and it was in an era of a great team and manager. 1 goal against a Top5 team in any domestic major competition in his entire ManUtd career, no ChampionsLeague knockout goals etc etc etc...I agree with Scholes about Bosnich's kicking. I remember that and then the following season we had Barthez and it was chalk & cheese (although he had a very poor 2nd season).

Ronaldo is surely the best premier league signing for what he achieved and what United got from Madrid
@mrwaltermathews

In my opinion Manchester City's most important ever signing was Robinho. The irony is he was somewhat of a flop but at the time he was considered one of the best young players in the world, and.heir to Pele, Romario, Ronaldo lineage and he was coming from Real Madrid. The Sheiks had bought city but they hadn't been able to attract stars to the club yet. Robinho legitimized the project and paved the way for signings like Aguero, Toure, Kompany. The kicker to the story is Robinho apparently thought he was going to play for Manchester United. He didn't realize there were two teams in Manchester and only realized when the deal had been finalized 😂
