There are advantages to RP-SMA (aka RSMA) which is a newer standard BTW. Mainly as the socket (the hole, not the pin) can wear over time, and being on a cheaper antenna, etc, is easier to replace. Also, converters are pennies

I got this kit (my first drone ever) about a month ago. I love it. As a newbie my flying ability is terrible. I have put about 25 hours flying virtually with the Drone Racing League simulator and my skills are slowly improving. My question is this: is there a way for me to temporarily reduce the touchiness of the throttle till I have better skill and reflexes? Is this a good idea? I have even greater respect for the skills it takes to fly as I am practicing myself. Thanks

@fpvcruzer

@@ChrisParayno I bought 4 additional batteries so with the two that came with the kit I have a total of 6 batteries and about 12 minutes of flying time. This feels like a decent amount of flying time. If you stick spent batteries into a charger as they run out of juice you can stretch the flying time further by recharging batteries while you use the other ones.

Hey there! I've done my extensive amount of research, and i've come to either buying the Eachine Novice 3 or This BetaFPV Advanced Kit 2. In your honest opinion, do you think (for a beginner) this drone or the Novice 3 would be better in the long run(Including the quads range goggles and transmitter and capabilities of the quad. Im trying to make the right purchase :) Thanks! I love your channel btw!
@BuddyRC

I wish I could give you a solid answer but I've never seen the novice 3 so don't want to provide advice either direction. The most important thing is finding a 'local dealer' with good customer support for your first purchase. Yes, there's a ton of info out there but more importantly is having access to people that can answer questions if needed.

I would say neither of these is a “long run” kit. They’re meant to get you in the hobby. Toothpicks are a bit much for brand new pilots too. I’d get this kit over eachine, you might as well source parts yourself if you go eachine route.

What's the quality of the plastics in this kit? My first drone is JJRC H36 and my hands are always sticky after using that controller. It feels like plastic melts from the heat of your hands and you cannot really clean them with anything (even solvent). This glue-feeling on hands goes away only after 2-3 days. It happened actually with two H36 as I borrowed one from my friend a year before and I thought that was the issue of his copy. I'm wondering if the same plastic issue will be in BetaFPV.

I have a Horizon Hobby Inductrix Brushless quad. So this would be my second quad and first FPV setup (I do fly RC planes though). I’m not familiar (yet) with RPM SMA. Since that’s a negative on this is there anyway to modify that in this setup or is it pretty much you’re stuck with it if you buy and want to use everything in the kit?
@BuddyRC
4 жыл бұрын
It isn't worth modifying. Just get a set of rpsma antennas. A set of adapters (worst solution). Or use the dipoles that come with the headset. The issue is just going against the grain when most have SMA antennas. You won't notice any 'quality' difference.

Thanks for this review, you sold me on getting it. Quick question, are there antenna you recommend as replacements for the goggles?
@BuddyRC
4 жыл бұрын
Honestly nothing really specific. A good setup is always a circular polarized plus some sort of patch antenna as a baseline. But with small quads like this where you're not really flying long distances any reputable antenna is going to be fine. For the office flying I do mostly with this the little dipoles that came in the kit work just fine. Another option you can entertain would be possibly looking at rp-sma to sma adapters if you plan on upgrading your goggles to something different, purchasing sma antennas and that way you'll be able to use the antennas on the next pair as well.

@@dalehendrix8966 Definitely ensure you're on the correct channel. This is usually an indication of 'close but not quite'.
