Louis Johnson thumping bass is a trip by itself added to Patti's voice and a great lyric it's pure ecstasy. For me this song ranks as 3rd best from the Dude album -#1 Something special, #2 Velas. The uniqueness of Patti's voice and the way she uses it to deliver a great lyric should get as much attention as Ella and the other greats in my opinion. Only Oleta Adam come close in my opinion. Anyone in doubt should listen to "Summer is the coldest time of the year".

That was the song that caused me to buy that album. The is written by Stevie Wonder, or Steveland Morris. I love the line that Greg Phillinganes is playing on the synthesizer.
