She EPITOMIZES class, elegance and charm! An icon of a glamorous era gone by MUCH too soon!

These titans of fashion dressed up the best era of fashion. Today they be mortified of the trash on the runways. Bring back elegance & taste.

The thing that I believe made Betsy Bloomingdale so divine was that she was wholly aware of her many blessings. She was a true lady.

Those days of such class and elegance seem to be gone; the pride of wearing original, exquisite clothing also seems to have vanished. It was a time and a world of respect for art and refinery that is missing today, as are the designers, and the women who cherished them; that mutual adoration.

I thought that Betsy Bloomingdale became a wonderful and truly supportive friend to Nancy Reagan, who so kindly welcomed Nancy into their circle, gave her such comfort and security and was always there for her...but, who knows? It's a nice story, anyway.

I like her, she didn't seem arrogant or snobby about her "status," and seemed so happy to generously share her privileged life style...especially how she treated Nancy Reagan, with such opened arms. Imho.

Even though they weren't mentioned here, there were some top women designers in this era - such as Coco Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Madame Gres' .

Let's face it: she was the embodiment of Republican bigotry. You would endure anything as long as she could have a few couture gowns. Shallow. Sad.
