I think the house thing with Gus was just to show that he doesn't actually live in the house that he invites people to or that they see him enter or leave every day. He lives next door and uses a tunnel to hide his exact location. If he is being followed by someone trying to kill him they will break into the house next door and that will give plenty of time to react. Also the people from the beginning are just a decoy family to make the other house seem like it has regular human traffic.
@beefjezos2713

I think he does live in his actual house, he just also bought the house across the street to use for surveillance and escape by building the tunnel to connect them. What’s interesting about episode is that the fact about how Jimmy never fit in any worlds. In legitimate world, he is always viewed as a scumbag both because of his own actions and because of how Chuck’s influence looming over that world. That’s why the whole courthouse boycotted him right away even without any solid proof. In criminal world, on the surface, he might be respected by the low level criminals like Spooge but for the high-level criminals like Gus, Mike and probably Lalo, they don’t respect him at all. All of them see Kim as a better, “sterner” and far more capable asset to their team. Mike chose to talk to Kim (whom he’d never met before) instead of Jimmy (whom he’d known for years) because he felt that Kim is a calm, more intelligent person than Jimmy, who is an emotional trainwreck (which will be proven to be Mike’s biggest mistake because his distrust for Jimmy was what led to his death in Breaking Bad) . How both the legitimate and criminal world rejected Jimmy makes Jimmy’s life as Gene Takavic a lot more meaningful and interesting because it will show which world that he really fits in? What he is really made of? How will he deal with it? And will it lead to his death?

@@sneakyshadow881 Yeah but Saul's background is pretty much a petty small-time criminal, so that's the customer base he tries to reach (because he knows how to attract those people). His flashy personality works well to market towards those people, Emilio and Jesse both knew about him and had a good opinion about him. But criminals who expect professionalism, like Walt, Skyler and Mike, are put off by that. That's the thing with branding, you can never reach everyone. Sometimes you have to pick your target demographic, and in Sauls case, those were addicts, gangbangers and other petty criminals. But you can't really impress successfull career criminals with that.

I believe Lalo traveled to Germany to look for clues about the super lab that Gus was building. He heard the name Kai from the phone call with Ziegler and he probably knows that that’s a German name so there’s a good chance he went there to look for him and interrogate him about what he knows about the lab that Gus was building in Albuquerque. If Lalo can prove to Eladio that Gus is building something big without their knowledge then Eladio can sanction a hit on Gus and move against him. Eladio is on good terms with Gus when we meet him in BB so this plot is definitely stopped by Gus/Mike somehow. Maybe Kai contacts Mike somehow. As for Kim, I feel like she may end up working for Gus somehow but that’s just wild speculation. Great episode. Cannot wait for the next one.

I like your theory! I just disagree that Gus and Eladio were on good terms in BB - Gus was actually out of the cartel as a competitor, very much against don Eladio's wishes; the cartel even violently coerced Gus to rejoin them at some point. I think the name of Kai is a good extra bit of information for Lalo. I'm not sure Lalo would think that threating Kai was a good idea though - he must be extremely hard to find (no surnames, Lalo didn't really see his mask-covered face at the farm), and Lalo knows Mike has probably made sure the Germans would never tell anything. I have another theory: Lalo is headed to Chile. He knows what happened there, he knows Gus wants to keep that hidden. Also, this season is the last chance we'll have to see what the hell happened in Chile...
@spontaneousbagpacker9447

YES!! Finally, I found someone who thought in the same direction as I did! Thank you for this comment. Absolutely it's a possibility that Lalo travelled to Germany as the way he said to Hector "There is proof" means he was certain about where to find that proof. It definitely can't be Nacho for 2 reasons: 1. It would be bad writing as they have capped the Nacho storyline so Lalo looking for Nacho would be a waste of storyline. 2. As far as Lalo's concerned, Nacho may as well be on Mars, it wouldn't matter. Also, it makes sense that he didn't go to America in the last scene of ep 1 as he doesn't have that much power and influence there, as compared to in Mexico, where he can easily gather up resources to travel abroad.

Man, for a pretty quiet episode, I was sweating bullets! I think Kim's sad fate is that she's going to become a friend of the cartel. That she's going to become involved with financing/laundering and will justify her criminal work by setting up a foundation that does "good works". (I just can't let go of fact she mentions that "Ice Station Zebra" was her dad's favorite movie and the guy Viktor and Giselle con for fun at Forques writes a check to Ice Station Zebra; Saul has client write checks to Ice Station Zebra; and Gene has a box full of diamonds (ice)...] I think Jimmy and Albuqurque become too small for her, but she leaves on good terms with him. I can't help thinking that, if Kim had died or gone to prison, Jimmy would've been weighed down with remorse and never become Saul Goodman. Or, at least, not the SG we saw in Breaking Bad. That he would've become more of a Gene Takavic character. I can't wait to see how Saul Goodman builds back good will at the courthouse. Jimmy is no longer the lovable rogue in that place and Bill Oakley sure laid that out to him cone / book / taco

I was just repeating the sentence "Everything about this is a bad idea" the whole episode. Man, I kind of feel bad for Howard. He has no idea what's going on, and one day, he's gonna go into work or go into a meeting and it's gonna be just like Jimmy at the courthouse where everyone's giving him the cold shoulder and he won't understand why. ⛔📗🌮 (I didn't have a traffic cone).

kind of feel bad lol. Jimmy and Kim are about to ruin his life for no fault of his own. He is probably the most innocent character in this show at this point and hes been everyone elses punching bag for their anger and guilt.

One thing I've held onto during Season 6 is the timeline as Better Call Saul comes closer to eclipsing with Breaking Bad. As with Breaking Bad we are left alot of clues as to the timeline and from the Kettleman's check in S6E1 the date on the check to the older gentleman is May 2004. So if Breaking Bad opens on Walter White's 50th birthday which was in Sept 2008 we have FOUR YEARS between what we are seeing now and the opening of Breaking Bad. Theories abound as to what happens in those 4 years. Love watching your reactions Nikki/Steven (I bought me a Los Pollos Hermanos T also!)

Coming from someone who puts street signs in…a sign post is usually bolted into the stem piece which is hammered into the ground. Highly unlikely someone could just drive a post into the ground the way saul did.

JUST realized…that foundation or whatever that Kim just said ‘he went for it’…THAT gives Kim her OUT for the BB world. Her n Jimmy fight, breakup, and she goes off to run it and it’s probably out of town somewhere?? It would work. also…SPOOOOOOGE!!!! “skank skank skank skank!!”

@@CST1992 At this point in the timeline Jesse wouldn't be a junkie yet, in fact he's probably still in Walt's chemistry class and there's NO WAY present day Aaron Paul could pull off playing him. Jesse's cameo will have to take place in a flash-forward to the Breaking Bad timeline and even then it will be a stretch.
@CST1992

@@briangonigal3974 I disagree. At the time of Breaking Bad season 1 i.e. 2008, the crew managed to show then 28-year-old Aaron as an 18-year-old junkie. I'm sure they will show something. And I'm saying they'll show him because they showed Wendy and they need to show the first time Jesse and Saul meeting, which was before the events of BB.

Howard talking about a random dream in therapy seemed unrealistic to me but then I realized they can't have him talk about sad stuff, because the rest of the scene needs to be comedic here. There again, I think his dream about reading and not understandig is the writers' nod to how he's honestly trying to read Jimmy and doesn't understand him.
