Working with acrylic is no joke! There are about a million different variants, and they all have their own strange characteristics, but they ALL hate to be cut, ground, filed, or otherwise manipulated. I've had sheets blow apart on me before, and that'll give you a pretty good scare! Safety Always with this stuff!

The best way is usually never the cheapest way. And you could substitute aluminium for the acrylic, I have. Takes longer but same basic steps.

How’s that cover trim piece going to affect off-axis response? I’m thinking slight waveguide or fast ring effect for on axis response. They’re nice! Hella expensive rings though. +1 on the polishing or perhaps an RGB led for backlighting? 😎

How does acrylic do in terms of sticking ro resin when fleecing or glassing into their spot, such as pillars? How does that compare to other materials such as PVC, type-1 PVC, ABS or other materials? How about even metal? My audiofrog metal rings are glassed right into my A-pillars currently and seem to be great.

by adding that second ring wont it act like a wave guide? especially at that thickness it should be noted that it would decrease the sound dispersion and make it more directional which can be a positive or negative effect. just depends on what you are looking for

Is that acrylic, or lexan? If not lexan, then can someone substitute lexan for acrylic? I have several pieces of lexan at my disposal, no need to buy something else if I can use what I already have on hand.

Unsure of the criticism. Imperial/Metric, who cares. Acrylic more expensive than mdf. No shit. Same principles apply to achieve the same effect in whichever is your chosen material. Acrylic more expensive? Hell yeah. Does it look more impressive? Hell yeah. Would you install them in a 500 dollar shit box? F*** No. High end install for the classy customer. Great video Mark

+cz3chmonkey I recently did a full box build using ONLY a circular saw and jig saw. You can check it out here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2JxnsXiwpoyEeH4 I have also done several videos about budget tools. In the US just about any calculation that is important in Engineering or Science is performed in Metric then converted to imperial when discussed with laypersons. Carpentry in not science it's Art so Mark can use whatever he wants his measurements are never going to hurt anyone.
