Fenders are special...USA especially...LOVE THEM.....but...they are no longer the only game in town. Schecter (I have one), Reverend, and many others of Asian persuasion make GREAT guitars in every respect. It's all about the TONE you want. My NJ Schecter Strat is FABULOUS....but has a modern sound that is just NOT a Fender in tonality. I've got way too many guitars...and my current favs are my Squier CV50 Tele's with Fralin and Lollars. Amazing tone for what I'm into now in my early 60s'. Golden age of guitars for sure....go with your heart and wallet.

This is awesome! This PT sounds so versatile. I'm in love with diamond series. Looking around for Nick's strat or tele (I'm not looking at Mexico fenders anymore now, even though they can be good). I see here we have Jumbo and extra jumbo in strat. What is your opinion on both, which one seems better match in what scenario (a bit beginner question though), I do not plan do metal on it of course. The neck I see is different type of C for each of them but the same pickups (of course). I would appreciate your input here :) thanks for putting all these great sounds on this tele 💪

I think most guitars sound similar with that much clipping. But, even then, those pickups seem to have some good note separation/clarity during shred fest. I have a seymour d hb in the neck on a tele and it sounds like I'm playing under a mud puddle compared to that thing. Seems like an extra versatile tele, more than normal.

Thanks for the review! Is it in your opinion suitable for metal (pickup configuration) or is it mostly targeted towards rock and hard rock?

If you plan on pumping up the gain, I say it's fine if you're ok with the single coil hum. In any case you could just replace it with a stacked single coil and you're good to go.

I play a strat and need a humbucker based one. Les pauls are too heavy. SG is stll super costly. PRS is girly. Now this is something .

don't know why, my neck PU is waaaaay darker ....truth be told H&K tend to have a lot of high end, that e.g. Orange amps, but guitar still sounds very dark. Love how it looks, loves how it feels in the hands, but hate the neck PU

I was just thinking this. I just got one a week ago, and my neck pickup is also much darker.

Well I just turned the treble knob on the amp.............you can easily turn the tone knob on the guitar when you're on the bridge pup to take off any harshness.

@@rhythmNbeard Yes, this is valid approach, but this creates a whole lot of other chained problems. all my other guitars have rather balanced PU voicings (and do not require high on-the-fly maintenance), turning the treble up that high also has significant EQ impact on everything else (high mids may skyrocket as well), EQ interventions on other guitars etc.... Also in quick changes of PUs in live settings this is not something that I would be much inclined to do. I event thought of having dedicated pedal just to compensate, but then, come on, this is damage control - in the end it is easier to swap pickups and be done with it :). My point is that the neck PU (and this is my personal impression) is way way darker (even muddy at times) than anything else I have EVER played (cheap or expensive). It may be acceptable if you play single notes up high on a fretboard, but for anything else - naaaaaaah . Just sharing my 2 cents and personal experience. It may be my wiring and my copy only, but reading comments of other people I am assuming it may not be the case. And may be valuable info for some...no meaning to bash anything or anybody, still love this guitar but I thing neck PU is gonna go.

Hello there, I tested the same model of this video and I found a huge difference in the output between the neck pickup and the bridge pickup (yes, I know they are very different hahahahaha). I would like to buy it, but I'm not sure because with my old telecaster (classic pickup config) I can play with the vol knob as a "kind-of-booster" because the difference between outputs wasn't too much different. How can I use this guitar in a similar way? Thank you!!!
@Sparky6string

The neck pickup has coil split making it single coil and much more the same level as the bridge pickup. In my experience singles hardly ever sound right when paired with a humbucker but that coil defeat makes it OK.

Hey, thank you for your answer. At the end I played with my amp, the tone and the volume and finally I found the sound and the best way to play with it. The split coil is an awesome invention. Thank you again for your answer.

on pure sound, it does not look like a telecaster at all - and it does not pull on a stratocaster either - there is no glass
