This really is an amazing car. You can rotate the car predictably with drop throttle neutral to slight oversteer in corners, has enough power and a great transmission. And will last much longer and be more reliable than most cars. Great review Sarah.

Reliability and longevity is unparalleled. My ES350 will last for 10+ years since I drive only about 6-8k miles a year and will maintain it. Pearl White (triple coat) metallic exterior is beautiful and glistens in the sun. WOuld love to drive this F Sport version! 302 hp vs my 268 hp would be great too. That interior is amazing, especially those seats

The Toyota New Global Architecture (aka TNGA-K, also GA-K) platform was rolled out to underpin the current generation Camry in 2017, then for the new Avalon, Rav-4 & Lexus ES in '18, the new Highlander in '19 and the new Sienna and resurrected Venza in 2020. NOT better than the TRD Avalon. More luxurious yes but performance is a wash and it lacks the Avalon's catback exhaust system with the lovely sounds. The common complaint is yes they now share the same 3.5L (2GR-FKS) engine, yes they both run the same 8sp auto. But where the Camry/Avalon fall short is the fact that lesser models (Camry/Avalon) feel like they don't have "all" their power available (thus feeling restricted) where as the Lexus version is so much better, it feels like it has no restrictions power wise, etc. Toyota did this because they can't have the same true performance/programming otherwise ES's wouldn't sell, after driving both back to back, yes they're both decently quick but the ES feels so much more responsive, more top end, less eager to dial back everything, etc. I'd take the Lexus for many reasons including that extra/unique cladding lexus models get over the Camry, interior fit/finish, transmission programming is superior, etc

Sarah your reviews are always awesome. You end this one saying you like the GS better... I bought a certified pre-owned GS350 F-Sport AWD a little over a year ago, and have shocked all my family and friends who've known me as a Mazda purist for the past 30+ years. I'm in love! It's needed some warranty work, and I've had almost every other Lexus as loaners, the ES being one of them. While it's an overall great car, quieter than my GS, smoother, waaaay more rear legroom, more efficient, and pretty zippy too, it's - as you stated - "wrong-wheel drive". There is just no comparison to the rear-drive based GS. Sadly, the GS is gone now. grrrr But no way does an F-Sport ES fill the big shoes of the GS F-Sport. No way. Thanks again, I always look forward to seeing your reviews!

@@stevenr6279 By that logic the RX also shouldn't be a Lexus product given that it's front wheel drive in the base model. Lexus offers better materials and noise insulation.
