I wouldn't get these in areas of snow or rain. Had them on my truck in the Northeast. They are barely passable in snow and sketchy at best in the wet. maybe in a southern climate or if you plan on putting on a snow tire. They are great for everything else probably one of the best. I just wasn't happy with wet and snow performance and the odd thing I found in reviews is that it is pretty split down the middle. You can find 100 people that say they are the best and 100 that say they are the worst in wet and snow. This is pretty odd unless it's a quality control issue?

Got 40k+ on my set. Starting to get slick in the rain. Really liked these when I got them because they were not on everybody’s rig. Good for all around “road” use, but have found them to be terrible in the mud. They fill up fast and don’t clean out well. First experience in some slick mud with lugs filled bounced my rear quarter off a tree. Wasn’t pretty and and I was giving it hell to get down a road with limited use after a light shower. Looking for something different for my next set of shoes.

I put 50,000km of highway driving on my truck every year. I ride dirt bikes as well and about twice a week I spend 20ish minutes on logging roads, and I live in British Columbia Canada where we get snow a few months of the year. I currently have the 295/55/20 Toyo at2 xtremes. I have had them for 3 years and it’s FINALLY ready to replace them. I’m just curious how the ridge grapplers are compared to the at2 xtreme. I am considering moving up a bit in size to a 33x13.5r20.

Im looking into buying the nitto exo grapplers for winter here in Montana, and the ridge grapplers for the summer. However, going that route gets really expensive. Would you recommend running just these all year round? I know you sort of touched on this in the video but just hoping you had a chance to experience both tires and could give me some clarity on this. Thanks.

Yeah, they are honestly terrible on wet roads. I upgraded tire size and went from Wildpeak AT3Ws with 50% tread to Ridge Grapplers. 50% tread wildpeaks were grippier. Nah bruh. IMO, Nitto runs a harder compound across all their truck tires, than their sister Toyo. In that regard, as they wear, they get loud on pavement and start to wear uneven at the outer lugs. If you live on dirt and gravel and just travel on pavement to get home, you can’t beat a nitto. If it’s the opposite, then I highly recommend Toyo RT’s.

I currently run Toyo MT 35s on Moto Metal wheels, I've always run them my last few tricks had 37s and 38s. I live in Washington so a place called Les Schwann had an exclusive on Toyos and they are outrageously expensive. A small tire shop just moved in next to me and I bought a set of "cheap" tires to put on a different set of wheels do the winter, they are Patigonias . I thought the would suck, they look loud a rough. I couldn't have been more wrong , they are the smoothest quietest mud tire I've ever run. I'm not sure what's next but definitely done with the Toyo MT.

These tires look great but I'll never own another set. Mine are really slick in the rain. I never had the rear end of my truck kick out on wet roads in a low speed turn until I put these on my truck. Now, I have to be super careful in a turn on wet roads. I've also have a balancing problem with mine. I've had my wheels checked, no problems. We've checked them in 2 different shops on 3 different balancers and the machines say that all 4 tires are balanced but there is still a vibration at highway speeds. And because the machines show all 4 tires balanced, it's hard for us to tell which tire is causing the problem. I had hub centric rings installed made specifically for my wheels and this helped some but the vibration is still there at highway speeds. I had my truck inspected to see if something else was causing the problem and everything checked out fine. The problem didn't start until I put these on my truck. At just under 2000 miles on the tires, we contacted Nitto for a replacement set and they denied my request, claiming I waited too long. So now, I have a truck that drives just fine in the city, but vibrates every time I get on the highway.

I can understand airing down to go off road, but to suggest that I should air down even more just to drive on a wet paved road is ridiculous. I cant find anything definite on which is quieter on highway between ridge grappler and open country at3. Does anyone have an answer to this that has actually had them both?

Hey, thanks for the video ... could you please comment on how these do on-road in the wet? I have A/Ts at the moment that are quite slippery so looking at getting new ones, and considering these Nitto Ridge Grapplers while comparing to Wildpeak AT3W and MAXIS RAZR AT811

At about 1:55 1:57. You can see the inside of the tire has cupping marks. :/ I am not ragging on the video. I really enjoy custom offsets.

I have a 4Runner that came with Nitto Terra Grappler from the factory. I put 50k on them and swapped them out for a set of Ridge Grapplers 275 70 17. Every oil change I rotate the tires. I am at 120k miles and just past my state inspection. I have zero issues. No cracking, uneven ware. The road noise is starting to increase but seriously I put 70k miles on a set of Nittos. Ever since everything is running nitto tires including my c10 square body. I will not run anything else
