Well, I found the same problem with my beuchat marlin carbone. The shoot was always shifted exactly in the same angle. Look a the position of the shaft in the shooting mechanism. Is always fixed at the right! Probably the lever is not properly aligned, and the shaft is forced to position his toe to the right (and his point to the left!) I'll fixed this problem filing the inox lever until it has the same profile in both sides. Now the shoot is perfect! I hope it helps!

we can clearly see how far the spear goes passed the target so what they claim is true the roller system on this beuchat revolution allows the hunter to shoot distant fishes without any difficulty that's very appropriate for blue water hunting that requires a speargun that can hit fishes several meters away from the tip of this speargun thanks for sharing :)

Hi majdq8! You have always been very helpful to myself and by the looks of it to many of you're viewers and I thank you for the time you take to reply to us with all our questions! This video for me was very interesting as I personally am a big Beuchat user here in Spain and was hoping to get this gun but after seeing this video I was upset to see how poor it performed. However! Just now Beuchat have released a limited edition Marlin Pacific Revo-Concept Roller with a few slight changes to the previous model. Mainly no more 3 band set-up, its now just a 2 band set-up which should make loading a lot easier and much less fiddly.. Secondly, no slider! Mono is attached to mainline like any other normal gun! I imagine this makes for a more accurate shot as well but you would know much more on that then I ever will : ) And thirdly.. Its a cheaper to.. I mean 550€ is not small change for a speargun but compared to the original 750€+ asking price its a step in the right direction Haha! Anyway the point being, in your opinion.. Given these new changes to Beuchat's Wooden Roller would you think its a worthy purchase or has the previous model put you off this gun & brand for good? I appreciate any help you can give me on this Majd. Kind regards James

I used Beuchat carbon 95 as one of my favorite guns for reef hunting smaller fish for many years. I used it with a single band and 6.5mm shaft. The Beuchat Revolution tested in this test was one of the first production roller guns. It had many flaws (pointed out in the video) and my guess is that the newer version addressed these flaws. Personally I am not convinced that a roller gun is necessary for a 7mm (or larger shafts for that matter). I haven't tried out the gun you mentioned, but I seriously doubt it would improve on the performance of a well setup 2 banded high handle pipe gun with correctly configured shaft and band combination.

+Jacob Hoke Actually after a lot of testing I came to the conclusion that rollers do not add performance at all. For rollers to outperform classic guns you most likely need new shaft technology such as tungsten cored shafts. As it is with Stainless Steel the mass of shafts is already already at terminal velocities with 2 or 3 bands on a well designed classic gun. On a 7mm @ 150cm shaft you can reach terminal with only 2 x 14mm bands ... even a gun with 3 x 18mm rollers will not be able to improve upon that. You can only push a shaft to its terminal velocity.

+majdq8 well u may have just saved me alot of time and money how did u figure out the terminal velocity of an SS shaft out of curiosity

Very simple, I keep adding band load until I get no additional penetration at distance. I found that 3 x 16mm bands did not give me more penetration with a 7mm @ 150cm shaft than the same setup with 2 x 14mm bands. Of course 3 x 16mm had MUCH more recoil but that did not add any power. Now moving shaft to a thicker shaft with more mass you will then get more power absorbed until of course you reach the next plateau ... and so on. Check my Pathos 130 video you will something similar in action.

Hi Madj, I just got this gun in 115cm and want to use a standard roller set-up instead of this 3 band complicated nonsense. What band size and diameter would be best in you're opinion? 14mm? Half the gun lengh?
@majdq8

I think the 3 band setup is actually not so bad as you can power up the gun without worrying about the shaft tail lift and getting low shots. What I don't like is the slide ring as it gets stuck in the shaft and you need to go back to the boat to get it unstuck. If the slide ring could be done away with and you can tie the rope to the shark fin ... and you don't get any band tangles ... then this would be a very big improvement. I don't think you need 3 bands (only 2), but I would keep the plastic ring separating the two bands as it allows you to get good pre-stretch without tail lift.

I think at the first two shots it's you aiming a bit to the right side. Other than that the video is perfect, all your videos actually. Great Job !

The gun isn't shooting left its the way you are aiming it.. I can see what you are doing, youre focusing on the tip too much and not the entire length of the gun, sometimes you can try different things to help align your shots... its like shooting a shotgun, you have to align the entire length

mamma mia che pacco questo fucile .. 3 aggiustamenti per dei centri decenti (e quel bersaglio non ha certo la larghezza del muso di un grosso dentice ..). Questo è il contrario della precisione ..
