excellent catch. interesting how big the station is. i don't think LAFD has anything close to that. though station 4 is pretty big, as is 88, and 27. heck i mostly see 3 bay or 4 bay LAFD stations when i see big ones, but that is like a 10 bay right?

So is it assigned, first come first served, or luck of the draw for pillar parking at the front of that station?

Nah, my guess is that there was a shift change or maybe people were there for CPR classes.

Is the USAR classed as a Heavy Rescue as I can not see why a USAR is sent to a AFA in a high rise

USAR is always heavy Rescue. Rescue is always sent to high rise, hospital school calls.

Dont know if you have this at your station or not but it looks like the street that the station is on is quite a busy one so I was just wondering if you have anything in the way of warning lights or signals that are place on the street at opposite ends of the station so when a engine or engine has to go out on a call, those lights would come on telling drivers in each direction to come to a full stop so the engine(s) can have a clear path out of the station and onto the street going which ever way it need to go, pretty much a safety system that my department has, they also have a device in their rigs that when they come up to an intersection they can use the device to turn ALL of the signal lights Red so they can have a clear or pretty much clear path through the intersection........
