I’m in the Beyhive and what you learn being a beyonce fan is you never go into her new album thinking it’s going sound or be like her previous work. Because she will try new things that you not use to. However I must say Ameriican Requiem is one of her best songs ever from the sound to the lyrics to the message. Ameriican Requiem is something Prince would’ve made. He would love this album

michael jackson was called the king of pop for a reason. his dancing, his sales, his impact, his creativity is unmatched. until now. it’ll never be “remember when Beyoncé did country album” it’s currently gonna be, Beyonce opening a door other artists haven’t dared to open. She brought house music back to the charts and dominated on tour. she brought country music to the forefront again and have artists being catapulted just by featuring on her album. THATS impact. THATS a queen. THATS an artist. and Gen Z has jumped on board. she’s topping the charts consecutively after 20+ years. her peers from the 90s and early 00s haven’t accomplished that to this grandeur. this album is BIG. everyoneeees talking about it. this is a culture shock and shift. and let’s not compare her to any counter artists new or old, she’s blazing on her own trail. separate opinion from FACTS.

Curious fact, the mind-blowing beat sampled in spaghetti is from Brazil and the song in question is Aquecimento das Danadas, by DJ O Mandrake! The funk genre is very famous in Brazil and is increasingly gaining more recognition in the world, the artist Anitta promotes funk there in the USA as well as other appearances of songs on Rihanna's show or remixes of artists in sets!!!!😊 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Beyonce is doing Blues/Americana which has DEEP African American roots. And she's brought some very special heavy hitters, within the genre, along for the ride to E-DU-MUH-CATE the Folk on the history. ;) We know of Rhiannon Giddens, who I've been following for years, who was playing the banjo on the Texas Holdem track. She's also an INCREDIBLE vocalist and all-around phenom talent. Also, regarding Rhiannon Giddens, she's one of the premier Educators, along w/Historian and Documentarian Ken Burns, regarding Black roots in country, particularly Americana and Blues. For example,, the banjo is an African instrument, brought to The States by Enslaved Africans and tweaked a bit by plantation owners. And if it weren't for the music of enslaved Africans, today's country would sound like Irish Folk music.

Fun Fact... This album was actually Act i, initially, and Renaissance was Act ii. In lieu of the pandemic, Bey decided to hold off on putting this one out. Once the shutdowns ended and we were able to get "back outside" she and her team decided that RENAISSANCE should go out first - because it was what the world needed. Dance, free expression, fun and partying. So this county genre-blend album has just been sitting for a few years and was supposed to be the FIRST album release, which is WILD when you consider it.

DeFord Bailey (December 14, 1899 - July 2, 1982) was a Black American country music and blues star from the 1920s until 1941. He was one of the first performers to be introduced on Nashville radio station WSM's Grand Ole Opry, the first African-American performer to appear on the show, and the first performer to have his music recorded in Nashville. Blacks were the foundation of country music.
