i really need to say this but if doing honour, remember friends can piss people off when it expires, one example is the zhentarim in act 1, if you use it on the shopkeeper to persuade them to sell the painter for less, when it expires they will become hostile immediately. be really careful when using this because a lot of potentially hostile people that are chill with you, will just instantly want to fight you as it ends
@ShandrensCorner

This is really important information that I should definitely have included in the video. I usually only use it on either people I want to fight right after anyways, or in situations where I know I will be getting right on out of there after. As long as you have left when it runs out you are golden, just be careful if you cast another concentration spell before leaving (guidance!!) as it WILL end the friends and possibly make them hostile 😛 I learned it the hard way back a long while ago, aggroing Kagha and bringing doom to the entire grove 😛

I’d actually suggest not taking fighter or warlock levels. Just take 2 levels of Ranger instead. You still get archery fighting style, hand crossbow proficiency, as can pick up a familiar to help start fights with surprise/lure in enemies to distract them. Hunter’s Mark is a good source of bonus damage too.
@ShandrensCorner
7 ай бұрын
I actually considered exactly that build :-) But I ended up going for this instead for a few reasons: (This build was for solo primarily though, so in a group ranger 2 would be a really good choice instead) I already have a familiar in Shovel, so find familiar is less important. It has natural invisibility so is amazing for starting fights with surprise, or staying out of fights till i need it. Raven is a strong companion for advantage as well though Hex is better than Hunter's mark for honor mode bosses, due to damage type. The ranger spells are mostly the same as druid spells other than that (i don't care much for the action+ bonus action spells) I value the cantrips from warlock a lot for solo play as well. Frightened debuff on crit is not nothing 2 levels in ranger gives me 3 more spell slots (2 lvl 2, 1 lvl 1) which is awesome, but is basically the same as warlock, since I won't have access to lvl 2 spells. I would prefer the Druid 3/Fighter 1 build to this for better spell selection. If I had not been able to pick up shovel, I might have gone for the ranger, and at lvl 5 Druid 2/Ranger 3 is absolutely an option due to ranger subclasses being pretty powerful (gloomstalker or Hunter-hordebreaker are both amazing).

@@johnstallone4807 You can learn to summon shovel on any character. Once learned it works as a "summon familiar" spell, that you don't need to be a caster to know. You just need to spec into wizard or warlock to *get* the common-version of the summon. In one of my early build videos (Karlach lvl 5 build), i go over the exact steps to get Shovel on any character. I have been informed you can cheese it even more and learn it on more characters if you interact with it a special way while it is still in the original container before picking it up, but have never tried. But I have had Shovel as a spell on my wizard, while also having her as a common ability on another character several times. I also do the whole thing early on in my DUO playthrough at some point.

Druid is my favorite class in any RPG, going way back to 1st edition D&D. In fact my online avatar/in-game name Drunemeton (Drew-nem-ah-ton [as in Pelaton]) is Galician: "The ‘oak sanctuary’ of Galatia, the Celtic province of Asia Minor, as described by Strabo (1st cent. ad), the Roman geographer. A council of the Galatians met here. Site not yet fixed on the modern map." (Oxford Dictionary) 🤓 When they came out with Circle of Spores I was like WTH!? But now having tried out this build on a new run I have to say you're right: This build does a great job in early game dishing out the damage! You just have to remember to stay out of the front lines, to keep those temp HP, but yet be close enough to use your reaction for that bit of extra damage. However, I have to say it's currently VERY WEIRD to go around after combat and collect dead bodies. (This is based on some online comments stating that in later Acts Spore suffers a bit from lack of 'source material.') I've just cleared both Gobbo Camps, and but for a few that I yeeted into some pits, I've collected every dead body…

Dealing 2d4+6 (bludgeoning) + 1d4 (fire)+1d6(necrotic) with your mainhand attack at level 2-3 feels like cheating... and then add the bonus action for another 2d4+1d4+1d6 :-) bye bye skellies!

I mostly just use it for breaking potions and environmental things. That way the hit chance doesn’t matter. At the moment I can’t recall exactly how it calculates its chance to hit. But most enemies seem to have around a 40-55% chance of being hit by it. The damage is pretty low so it is not too important for actually damaging enemies. But lightning charges and probably other damage riders could make it better. I will test what works once I get higher level and access to more gear. I like your idea with reverberation. If there is any gear that works well with it. It seems that each d4 is its own separate damage source. So maybe it can be strong for selective pricing of reverb or something :-)

For a guide check the later parts of this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2q97v5eBkKiknXY So you don't need to respec to wizard to keep him. Technically you can keep resetting Mol to get a shot at a bloodlust elixir. Vendors reset whenever you long rest/partial rest or when you level up a character. So you CAN keep resetting her by respeccing companions, hirelings or yourself with withers, and then steal the money back from him (he wont mind). And then you can buy as many as you please from Mol with enough patience. Personally I play without more than a few long rests in total, so there are plenty Bloodlust elixirs the normal way for me. Also remember that you can create a hireling (or respec) to have an almost perfect alchemist so you get 2 elixirs per craft instead of one.

@@adamskeans2515 (TLDR: You can get a lot of potions without the Mol reset. The spec if for act 1 mostly. you wont need to rest a lot.) She sells only 1 at a time. But this build is meant as a solo build so you should really not need a lot. I usually get my first pot from Mol, and then that is it. You can craft quiet a few with a specced alchemist. And then for me personally there is also the benefit that I simply don't rest a lot. So even without buying any from Mol at all there are enough available for all of the game no problem. That becomes less so the case if you short rest after every fight. But you really shouldn't need to with a build like this. Last thing to consider is that this build is designed for Act 1. The power of 5 temp HP per kill falls off a bit down the line. Bloodlust is always amazing, and I would probably suggest using it as much as possible, but the whole regen temp hp thing becomes a lot less enticing as you go on. I might decide to switch out of bloodlust eventually, specifically because it stops other ways to regen temp hp like boots of aid and comfort 🙂
