The *Bhagavad Gita* is a 700-verse Hindu scripture that is part of the Indian epic Mahabharata. It is a sacred text of the Hindu religion and consists of a conversation between Prince Arjuna and the god Krishna, who serves as his charioteer.
The Gita is set on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, just before the start of a great war. Arjuna, filled with moral dilemma and despair about the violence and death the war will cause, questions his role as a warrior and the ethics of fighting in the battle. Krishna responds by teaching Arjuna about various aspects of life, duty, righteousness, and spirituality. The conversation delves into important philosophical and theological issues, including the nature of the self, the purpose of life, the path to salvation, and the concept of dharma (duty/righteousness).
The Bhagavad Gita is divided into 18 chapters, each dealing with different forms of yoga and paths to spiritual realization:

10. *Vibhuti Yoga* (The Yoga of Divine Glories)
11. *Vishvarupa Darshana Yoga* (The Yoga of the Vision of the Universal Form)
12. *Bhakti Yoga* (The Yoga of Devotion)
13. *Kshetra Kshetrajna Vibhaga Yoga* (The Yoga of the Field and the Knower of the Field)
14. *Gunatraya Vibhaga Yoga* (The Yoga of the Division of the Three Gunas)
15. *Purushottama Yoga* (The Yoga of the Supreme Divine Personality)
16. *Daivasura Sampad Vibhaga Yoga* (The Yoga of the Division between the Divine and the Demonic)
17. *Shraddhatraya Vibhaga Yoga* (The Yoga of the Threefold Faith)
18. *Moksha Sannyasa Yoga* (The Yoga of Liberation and Renunciation)
The Bhagavad Gita is highly regarded for its philosophical depth and spiritual insight, and it has been commented upon by many scholars and philosophers over the centuries. It has also been translated into numerous languages and is considered a timeless guide to living a meaningful life.
