I discovered the Bhundu Boys in the mid 80s via John Peel and Andy Kershaw. I saw them play live in Cork, Ireland, in about 1987 and it was amazing. Everybody smiling, laughing, soaking in sweat..one of the best gigs I ever saw and one I'll never forget.

Iv spent time reviewing this story, pride drove this great band to its death and it looks like Rise was jealous of Biggie. Its true Biggie was the force behind Bhundu boys period. If Rise had just swallowed his pride we still could be listening to the Bhundu boys today. Pride comes before a fall and divided you fall.

Pride destroyed Biggie first before the demise of the band through Rise..the " they can't do without me " mentality was the main issue.

What a tragic story and ending for a great band. LONG LIVE BHUNDU JIT SOUND!

The fact that Biggie bought his OWN PLANE TICKET and followed his Team to UK after they had left him behind @ Harare Airport, was testament enough to his commitment and dedication to the cause of this Bhundu Boys Band. It was kinda UNFAIR to scratch him off the Concert and fire him thereafter. As the leader and founder, Rise Kagona and everyone else involved with BB should have forgiven Biggie and readmitt him into the BBB. PRIDE from both ends spelled the demise of this TRAILBLAZING BAND.

I just didn't like Rise Kagona's attitude towards the band & Biggie. Bhundu Boys was supposed to be a force to recon raising the Zimbabwean flag by now. This documentary has taught me that for any partnership to live long there must be total unity, love, unselfishness, support & no to jealousy, envy & being greedy.

Rise Kagona is lost and unwise. I have never heard anyone talking down on their projects like that. Bhundu Boys were not the first band to experience calamities, and definitely will not be the last. If Rise was as good as he claim he was he would have picked the pieces from where they fell. At least Biggie did a few hits before losing it. Biggie was the pillar of this band IMO.

what you said is nothing but the truth because Rise blames Tembo but he forgets that Tembo was the one who was leading them, when Tembo got separated with his wife he wrote a song about it and it became a hit he also wrote a song when his son was born and the song also rocked so what does this imply ?it simply ompliews that Biggie was the master mind in the group
