My double Alpine crossing 2018 starts after arrival from Dornstetten by train to Munich at Munich Central Station and leads from there mostly the long-distance cycle path "Munich-Venecia" to Mestre. Then I cycle along the Adriatic coast towards Trieste to Udine. There I drive on the long-distance bike path "Alpe Adria" back to Salzburg and after crossing the border I drive from the station Freilassing back to the Black Forest.
The seventh day on my bike tour is a Sunday and in the early morning I start in bright sunshine in Lido di Jesolo on the Adriatic coast. The first kilometers lead along the Adriatic coast on cycle paths, but the sea is not visible. Around noon then the first bathers stream towards the Adriatic Sea and I approach the Alpe-Adria-Radweg, also a cycle path, which runs from Salzburg to the Adriatic coast to Grado. But before I can continue on this very nice bike path, I have to drive a few more kilometers on motorways, fortunately on Sunday, there is little traffic.
In the afternoon we will cycle on the Alpe Adria Cycle Path via Palmanova to Udine, where I will move to my hotel. Unfortunately, the Hotel Friuli turns out to be a veritable detour and I am glad that on this Sunday evening I can end the day in the historic old town of Udine.
