Stats showed an ominous sign over prediction of Goerges in the 1st set. Seasoned player like her no needed panic at all. She knows 2 sets necessary to become a winner. Experience + renewed confidence she took it business as usual. Emphatic win!! Veteran prevails. (Curious coincidence is win by Pluskova, coming back from a set down). An entertaining match!! A young challenger should be proud of the final. Much to learn, much to come! Good luck!

Goerges has been around for a while now and hasn't achieved anything significant yet. I'm surprised that she's able to hang in there at all with her incredibly unorthodox, big loopy strokes that takes way too much time away from her game, and gives her opponents a significant edge over her time-wise. Congrats to Goerges - we'll see if she can build on this win.

Disagree utterly and completely. I watched the whole match and if Bianca had been fresher and not suffered those lower back problems she would not have caved in the last set. 6-7 double faults into the net in that set was indicative of physical problems. She was not able to arch her back enough to get leverage on the "up and over" aspect of ball striking, hence low balls. 7 matches in 7 days is a lot of tennis.
