The Bianchi Model 58 P.I. outside-the-waistband leather pancake holster is a good option for those who wish to carry OWB in a far rearward position along the beltline.
It is designed with a greater degree of forward cant to make drawing from positions beyond 3- and 4 o'-clock easier for the wearer, and rides appreciably high on the hip to aid in concealment.
The leather and stitching are not of the highest quality, but the slick finish repels dirt and moisture better than some more supple leathers, and the molding is very rigid, fitting more like a kydex or plastic shell and retaining shape very well. The open-bottom slide design makes the P.I. a versatile holster than will accept a number of different firearms of different lengths.
One major drawback is that the holster comes standard with very tight belt loops which are cut at an angle, making a thick and rigid gunbelt difficult to wear with this holster.
With an MSRP of $58.00, the Bianchi Model 58 P.I. is less expensive than some other options, particularly those with pronounced forward angling, but there still may be other options that tick of more boxes regarding the needs of concealed carriers.
