Good video. It was nice to hear the translation choices for Psalm 23. Right now, I prefer the NKJV for personal study. However, my youngest (12) prefers to read and study the NRSV, so we use that for homeschool. Our church also uses the NRSV, which is more of a middle-of-the-line translation. I do like both, in the end.

Hello Petra!! I have to confess I haven't been that great at reading my Bible in the last few years. I was brought up that the only true and right version was the KJV. That's the only Bible I've ever had and the only one I've ever read. I guess If I was to go outside of that version I would use the NIV. It's the most readily available and from what I've heard from friends easiest to understand. Thanks for sharing this. God Bless

I was raised the same way. I have found though we all learn and understand differently. I use the NKJV, the New King James version. That is the one that works best for me. Everyone needs to find the one that works best for them. I have one book that has the KJV, NKJV, NIV, NLT. I can read the same verse in each translation.

Thanks Petra, we are currently studying this in a class at church called, "Grasping God's Word" and it's mind blowing how many translations there are. Thanks for starting the conversation. What translation do you use? I use the NIV, knid of in the middle of formal versus functional. Hope you are doing well.

I use the NIV bible most of the time but I was brought up on the King James version. Im not sure what our pastor uses but he is all about reading the bible for yourselves and hearing what Holy Spirit has to tell you. He is a very good pastor.
