Bibury is a stunning and charming village situated 6.5 km Northwest of Cirencester is the hidden gem of the Cotswolds in England, UK.
With a population of of only approx. 650 people, this charming village is one that you may have all seen one street of without even being aware!
With the river Coln running through the centre, Cotswold stone cottages and old stone bridges make this little parish a haven for visitors and those wanting to capture a piece of history.
With a selection of pubs, cafes and little shops this is the ideal place to go and walk around on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
With a Mill, Manor, Old Church, a Trout Farm and the Historic Arlington Row, there is plenty to see and do.
Described as 'The most beautiful village in England' by William Morris and even the American Fox News Channel stated that Bibury was one of the World's most picturesque villages - you know it will not disappoint. It is now looked after by the National Trust, who ensure that it is maintained to resemble it's original form.
We went there on a Sunday afternoon and was amazed to see how busy this little village with. Tourists from across the Parish, all with one location in mind - yes, the Famous Arlington Row.
Location for scenes from Films such as Stardust and Bridget Jones's diary. This little row of houses which was built in 1380 and then transformed in to Weavers Cottages in the 17th Century, is now known as being one of, if not, the most photographed street in the UK!
It is also present inside the cover of the British Passport, so if it looks familiar, and you haven't seen it on screen, that is where you will recognise it from.
It is not just Arlington Row that Bibury is famous for though, even without that street the village is worth a visit as there are great angles for amazing photographs to be taken throughout.
Then there is the Famous Trout Farm. One of the oldest in England, covering 15 acres this trout farm is home to approx. 6,000,000 brown trout. Many of these trout and plenty of wildfowl can be seen swimming in the shallow River Coln that flows through the centre.
If you want to see how the trout taste, the farm has a café that serves some great trout dishes and you can also catch your own fish during the fishing season - April till October.
Off season - November - March, you can still enter the farm, walk around and even feed the fish, which you can see on our video the kids loved. You will not believe there are actually any fish there as the water is so calm, but as soon as you throw feed in the water erupts as a frenzy of trout all fight for the feed.

We have visited many of the villages in the Cotswolds, with the famous castle Combe said to be the prettiest, but after visiting Bibury, we now have our doubts that even though stunning, it deserves that title - Watch our video of castle Combe here: • Castle Combe Village |...
We recommend that if you want to see beauty, nature and history, then Bibury is worth a visit, and whatever you do, do not forget your camera.
