I'm going 32 MPH on a ebike I need to change them to the new through axles, but for now I'm going to zip lock it to the fork right on the side of it like he showed us

Yo thanks for this dude, you're super thorough! First time doing this on a bike with quick release and I couldn't find my question answered anywhere, it was pertaining to the direction of the springs 😆. The original install had them in the opposite direction than you show and it seemed counter intuitive, thanks for confirming that the wide side sits against the adjustment pieces. This kind of in depth coverage is not that common, subscribed.

Honestly, at install when turning the head isn't it just driving it into the acorn nut instead of screwing on the opposite side?...

The knowledge I have comes from decades of learning and practicing. The goal of my website(s) and KZitem channel(s) is to share it in a novice-friendly way, but with enough detail and "learn-more" sources for anyone who wishes to "dive deeper." The advance of technology and the shortness of human life make it impossible to "learn everything," but in my experience, having a wide range of "general knowledge" can often help in whatever one decides to specialize in. I.e. a lot of stuff is sort of "overlapping."
