JAI GURU DATTATRIYA
A Old temple of GOD SHIVA where local people go for pilgrimage . There are ponds around where people take bath before worshipping GOD. There is a cave at about one KM from this temple over a nearby hill where there are two tunnels, one for ging and other for return which is very narrow. This place is called " PARVATI VIVAR". It is presumed that only those with pious mind can return and the sinner would get stuck up.
Gomukh, also known as "Gaumukh" or "Gomukhi" (Hindi: गौमुख or गौमुखी ; Assamese and Bengali: গোমুখ or গোমুখী), is the terminus or pout of the Gangotri Glacier and the source of the Bhagirathi River, one of the primary headstreams of the Ganga River. The word Gomukh/Gaumukh (go/gau=cow, mukh= mouth) literally means "Mouth of a Cow."
Gomukh is mentioned in the Puranas. It is said there that, searching a lost sheep, a boy reached near a glacier in Gangotri, the snout of which exactly looked like the mouth of a Cow, and thus it got its name 'Gomukh' . From then many holy saints, sages, sadhus, hermits, adventure seekers, as well as religious people and adventure seekers also went there to worship the place. It is also rumored that, if anyone visits Gomukh / Gawmukh with evil intentions or polluted body or mind, his ancestors fall in Burning Hell and that person experiences grave horrors and deep melancholy surrounds him.
by this history one of the great sage came to bidar (vidura nagar) in searching of great places by walking in the forest he was thirsty and want to drink water but seeing the forest he didn't see any of water lakes then he prayed the lord shiva with full devotion. by seeing the devotion of the great sage lord shiva gave him the gaimukh (an ancient stone) and told him that in vidura nagar there is lack of water problem so establish the gaimukh Temple.
from that day all the people of the villagers were happy and gave the offering pooja to great sage and thankful for what he did for the Vidura nagar.
