Well, see, A debate is held between two candidates for office. Because Biden is not running for re-election, A debate between a former president and a president who is leaving office in January has no purpose. Kamala Harris is the Democratic nominee, and thus is entitled to debate Trump. Because Trump is a coward, he refuses, and shows his true weakness.

The reason there are not term limits for the Supreme Court is because you don't want a justice focused on what they will do when they are out of office. Leave it alone. If there are issues remove the justice in question. Section 1 of Article 3 of the Constitution says: The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behavior, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services a Compensation which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.

The only official immunity prior to that ruling was that against civil suits that can be brought by anyone at any time with or without any evidence. Only the district attorney can bring criminal charges, so only when a DA believes that they have enough evidence to prove their case will presidents be prosecuted. It didn't happen every term prior to the SC ruling and until that ruling was not a protection that Presidents could be assumed to have. Grant was arrested for speeding three times, once while a president. A president should not be immune to criminal acts. Whether you believe any given president would use their power to assassinate a political rival or not, currently the official stance of the US Justice system is that he can legally do exactly that.
@jpdi
2 ай бұрын
@@TheLordNeko there is only immunity for official acts of the presidency. Speeding tickets are not official acts of the presidency and therefore still are able to receive punishments.
