Gonna try this. I have had issues with bass fluctuating. It gets nice and loud in the beginning then goes soft then will go back to loud a minute later.. I have replaced the amp, upgraded my Alt to 300amp. And moved my ground to bare metal from the amp. So I hope it works

Please put a fuse in the alt to bat wire. I did not and having some electric issues now. Alt started to put out 17 volts and fired a 1/0 wire. If i had a fuse the first time, I probably would not be having the issues i am having.

Fuse on heavy cable protects your electrical system in the event the alt itself has a dead short

This video is definitely old because nowadays that's all I see is the big 7 for Jeep. Tons and tons of Jeep videos. Hell they even made premade wires all pre labeled to make it simple. All for Jeeps. And you don't need to put a fuse in between the alternator positive. Especially with that thick wire. I mean anything can happened regardless of thickness but you don't need to. If you're OCD then you will. Lol Other than that, good job my man

Great video tho. This video showed me that I might not have to take the power off the alt. I'm calling mechman today to double check if they say you shouldn't be doing this I will recomment and let you know

Looking into the stock alt.. How’s this set up holding up? Any of your lights flickering when you have your sound system cranked up? Like you mentioned on your video there are no videos out on Jeep Wrangler JK big 3, and I will be doing this on my Jeep Wrangler JK soon. I plan on leaving the stock alt initially then upgrading to a bigger one down the road. Any more recommendations would be helpful. Thanks for the video.

I spoke to a pro installer about this. He said to do the Big 3 first and see how the system handles it before upgrading the alternator. Alternator upgrade may not be necessery. Stock is only 160amp. Was thinking of going to a 320, but he said to hold off.

I noticed you didn’t take the old power wire off the alternator. Is that optional?

Did you not take off the alt power wire because you didn't want to run a new wire from the fuse box to the battery? That's the issue I'm having I'm going to be putting a 320 Amp hairpin alt on my jeep. It's a real pain in the ass under the hood of these things. Really stupid how they added so many wires in spots that didn't need them.

from what i remember, i didnt remove the stock wire just because i didnt need too or feel like it. My thought was if I'm adding more wire to reduce resistance, why turn around and remove the stock wire. To this day, i'm still running this same setup with the addition of a Fosgate 300x4 amp for my mids. I did replace my battery a few weeks ago with a AGM one. No issues after all this time.

Thanks. I’m going with the big three in my 15. Why size amp are you using? And is it helping?
