I wish they would finish this, it deserves to be seen to it's conclusion.

@@pretzel6629 The Day the Earth Stood Still did but that was just 1 part of a whole saga. It ends teasing the final battle in The Seige of Babel but that never happened

@@pkkingcrimsonrequiem1332 I almost feel like it wasn't meant to have an "ending". The entire story is a fusion of homages to Misutera Yokoyama's works and it starts with us just dropped into the middle of what's meant to feel like an ongoing pre-existing story.
@0:42 wait, isnt that Kenji Murasame? the fuck is he doing tin this

Not sure how much context you need, and you might know by now anyway, but in case you’re unaware: Giant Robo: The Animation is a very loose adaptation of the manga and tokusatsu series Giant Robo, which was originally created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. Apparently due to a rights dispute, when making the Giant Robo OVA they were unable to use most of the characters who appeared in the tokusatsu version, so they decided to instead have a cast of characters which homage numerous other works by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. Since Yokoyama created Tetsujin 28-gō, several characters in the OVA are references to characters from it, including Kenji. In fact in this same clip, Chief Ōtsuka is also referenced, albeit only in text, as his name is shown on the list of “the Celestial Nine” at 1:45, being the fourth name from the left. Other examples of reference characters in this clip include Chuujou being based on Igarashi from Babel II, and Go (shown to the right of Kenji) is based on Wu Yong’s appearance in Yokoyama’s manga adaptation of Water Margin. Other Tetsujin references in the Giant Robo OVA include Dr. Franken von Vogler being based on Dr. Furanken and Dr. Shizuma being based on Dr. Dragnet. Various robots from Tetsujin also appear, though many of them only briefly; for instance Black Ox and Robby appear but only in the opening montage, while others like Monster, Fire II, and VL2 appear in the main narrative. Kenji’s voice actor in Giant Robo would later play him in the 2004 Tetsujin anime, which also had various other actors and staff overlap, notably sharing Yasuhiro Imagawa as director of both.
