im honestly reminded more of joy division and killing joke, but shit i love this song. i tried listening to kanye west's love lockdown after hearing people call it a real harrowing industrial song then i decided i knew what really constituted as a harrowing industrial song and decided to listen to this for the gazillionth time

Am i crazy or this song actually has a synth/organ part near the end? Whatever it is, it sounds really beautiful.

@missescookie I love Nirvana, but to me, Big black, bands like DICKS, TJL, Scratch Acid... their influence is very apparent in Nirvana's sound at times. As the DICKS likely had some influence on Albini...definitely Yow...etc. It's all good stuff but love Big black... even the 25 anni thing was rad...

@mrj8239 I just have listened to, "In Your House" (for the first time in many years I might add). While I could see some similarities. "Bad Houses" is strong enough to stand on its own, and has a definite difference in overall feel more menacing sadness than ethereal melancholy, if that makes sense. It's harsher :) I think you are right that it may have inspired the song. Also, it's not stalking, it's follow up. No foul mate :)

@mrj8239 file:///C:/Users/Owner/AppData/Local/Temp/atomizer.htm Link to the notes. He does mention seventeen seconds," but whether or not he is referencing The Cure remains to be seen..at any rate, we can agree on one thing. We like Big Black :)

I love this song and I love The Cure's "In Your House", but I have never, ever connected the two lyrically or musically. Other than they both have "House" in the lyric and a guitar arpeggio.

@mrj8239 A Cure rip off? Gimme a break. The vocal delivery is appropriate for the content of the song. Think about it.
