Thanks Bill- I’ve read your book & followed your continued work getting to the historical truth. I even read your synopsis in the most recent Grapevine of the writing of the Big Book for its 85th celebration. At 36 years sober a day at a time…I didn’t know Hank Parkurst’s massive contribution to the existence of AA (book and fellowship) so thank you for your continued research. Hank is also a great example of what happens if we stop doing “moral psychology” on a daily basis. Thank you🙏🏼

Thank you so much for your Book Bill it has helped me more than you'll ever know and for these extra helpful youtube videos. As a militant Athiest in AA with 10 years sobriety I have to thank Hank too, I struggled with AA for 24 years before finally getting sober in 2014 because of my own prejudices,I would throw the baby out with the bath water on many occasions until a fellow Athiest and AA member pointed me towards learning more about the History of AA and the not so religious early members who fought to give us the book we have today.

Such a great historian and presenter of facts! Love your reporting on these Founders of one of the best comparisons to the early American History! I am reading the Devine Comedy right now which to me describes our journey thru inferno, purgatorio, paradiso! Thank you Bill you are so special and such a great mentor!

While Mr. Schaberg's account of history is quite good, the conclusions he draws about Hank Parkhurst's contributions to AA raise many basic questions. The idea of crediting someone as a co-founder who only stayed sober a few short months after the publication of the Big Book is beyond me. While Hank Parkhurst may stand as a shining example of "what not to do", he simply does not earn the credit offered here.

The book would not have been published without Hank. For that alone, he deserves the credit. MILLIONS of people are sober today because of it. His relapse is completely irrelevant to the big picture if you really think about it. But I wouldn't worry about it too much because he didn't get much credit. In fact he has been basically erased from AA history. Only us nerds and historians talking about old Hank...lol

The bible is the bigger book of the big book. AA will bring you to hell? To many false higher powers. Only one god who came down and died for our sins.

IMHO, this episode is just a rehash of previous episodes. Nothing new here. Disappointing if you have been following this series from its inception.
