4014 was super impressive just sitting in the shops. but still on my bucket list to see her running the rails. great video. and when a train does a horn just for us rail fanning, excitement is just like when we were kids.

It was Sparky, I have seen him in steam and moving but this time I was intent on seeing it at at least a trot. Well, he was at a near-full gallop. 😄 That made me happy. Yes, when we got a horn-toot, we were like kids, tickled pink. Glad you liked the video, thank you so much, Rob

That was a terrific video Rob and Michelle, loved it. You should make more like that, you are a great team together! 👏👏 The Big Boy was obviously sensational, what a thunderous beast that is and you are so lucky to be able to not just see it up close but to see it steaming under its own power - fabulous! 👍🏻👍🏻 Cheers. ……………Graham

Hi Graham, We are talking about starting a new channel together. It was very much fun working on this project as a team. In fact, she was the one who came up with the idea. The video is rough and could be a lot better technically, but it was honest and we had fun doing it. Out there in Nebraska along the tracks waiting for trains, it was a special kind of peace. The birds and the bugs all singing, the breeze gently blowing, early in the morning. Big Boy, when it rocketed by, was definitely a memory I shall not soon forget. I've seen big GWR locomotives blasting through stations and that was thrilling, but this had its own magic too. I got my wish to see him at speed and that was the object of the exercise. Thank you, my friend, see you soon, Rob

@@FarlandHowe Well I think that would be an excellent idea Rob to have another channel where you both of you take part, it worked very well. I wouldn’t worry about trying to over complicate things and make it look more professional, it’s the rawness that’s makes it attractive in my opinion, if I want something more more professional then I switch the telly on - this is different. Good luck with the new channel, I will, certainly be one of your first subscribers! Let me know when it’s up and running. 👏👏

@@GrahamFoulston I do understand, the awkwardness and inappropriate moments are fun because they are real. I have no problem with that part. Maybe it is knowing all the awful stuff that didn't make it into the video or just the poor camera work on my part. I am good at shooting model trains but the full-sized ones are much harder to get right and you only get one shot at it. They are always bigger and faster than I expect. Also, I am always too close. I need to do more of it to get better. I think that is coming. Perhaps a new camera would help too. Thank you, Graham, from both of us❣ 👍

Wow Rob amazing video, Stunning to see this loco , The model is sat on a sideing ready to move on my layout, It's a shame the models are not finished in gloss black like the prototype. All the best..

Hi Jim, Your model might be more true to the days when these beasts were working hard. This one is a showpiece earning its keep by traveling around the country bragging on the UP Railroad, not the gritty work of hauling heavy freights over the mountains. Back then they were dirty, over worked draft horses. Thank you so much, Rob

Interesting that bethgons and autofloods are not interchanged. I guess that's because they're Unit trains?

Hi Mark, It looked to me like the train that stopped was two unit trains coupled together. I would expect them to do that for efficiency instead of bringing them back individually. It would save labor that way. Thank you so much, Rob
