Could someone explain to me why each time the Big Boy runs he’s tied to a diesel-electric locomotive and a consist of other cars the locomotive should be able to haul without trouble?

for brakes you cant find brakes for the big boy they have to be hand made so they use the diesel motor to slow down

@@cooter-of7ej Sounds reasonable, but I did find out that George Westinghouse patented the air brake in April 1869, so are you sure?
