@Bill Spicer -- Bill, at 6:27 of this film, you show a barbed wooly bugger, and it's wet, as if it had been used. I am not certain whether barbless hooks are required in this situation. My understanding is that barbless hooks are required in Manitoba. I am certain that you wouldn't break the law, but I wonder whether it might confuse anglers who might fish in the province. By the way, I am not chastising you, whatever the explanation is. I have unknowingly fished in prohibited areas, so I know how easily mistakes can be made.

He did show a fly from his fly box which had a barb, but he did not use that specific fly. You're absolutely right, you must be exceptionally careful to not use barbed flies in Manitoba. I usually sit and pinch all my barbs before leaving on my trip.

Mr Spicer May I ask about your gear setup for the trout in this episode? 6 Wth with a fighting butt? Thanks to the NFF for the continued outstanding content.

Yes, that is the rod he was using. Fighting butt is very handy!
