I wish they did this to all the big equipment instead of scrapping them. These machines are part of history.

This one was saved because it almost bankrupted p&m and they did not have the money to scrap it I wish they all bankrupted their companies forcing them to abandoned them

I am glad that Big Brutus was preserved. That was too bad about the Silver Spade and the Big Muskie Walking Dragline.

I wish we could still climb the boom now that would be epic haha. It mentioned it being the 2nd largest and if I remember right I think the worlds largest is located somewhere in Australia. Awesome video Steve!

I climbed up the boom when I was a kid. But they don't allow it now.

They died in 2010 They closed the boom in 2004 That’s why they now barricade and overkill the door with locks

Awesome video! I visited Big Brutus many years ago as a little kid, and it absolutely captured my young imagination. Alas, I was also deeply terrified of heights, and wasn't as brave as my mother and brother, who walked up to the top of the boom. :)

Big Muskie was a walking dragline and walked on feet The shovel crawler tracks in general were inspiration for the nasa crawlers

It was bigger Big David was a 5761 this is bigger David had a 65 cubic yard bucket Brutus has a 90 cubic yard bucket
