The voice, the lyrics, the guitars like bagpipes . . . They turn a song into an anthem like nobody else. I'm just glad that KZitem exists to host performances like this, so we can watch them over & over (as the memory from the 80s is a little hazy of when these vids first played). I miss this guy at least as much as I do John Lennon, and more than the rest of the great musicians who went too young. Stuart, rest in peace, if you can. We are grateful for the songs you left us.

I loved and still love U2, but Big Country was always my favorite. When I bought my first two cassette tapes were Big Country, "The Crossing," and Def Leppard, "Pyromania." I played that Big Country tape until it was completly worn out! I miss those days in the fog of Washington State.

Big Country amazing strong band in the 80s and beginning of the 90s ! They have made some of the best classics around. Ashame they get so little airplay here in The Netherlands. Greatly under-estimated. But the sadest part is the death in 2001 of their frontman. Still cant believe it. This is to me their most powerfull song.

I have/had the same experience. I wish that I could have seen them live, but it will never happen now. Their music helped me through a 4 year stint in the military and beyond. The Seer was the last album I bought and I lost track of them, now I'm discovering they kept putting out great music after that. I'm so thankful that there is so much to see on youtube, but it also makes me very sad.

For my money, one of the top 5 bands of all time. Getting those guitars screeching like bagpipes over Stuart Adamson's blue-collar, struggle-of-everyman lyrics raises goosebumps every damn time. People are lamenting Michael Jackson's loss right now, and fair enough, but when Stuart took himself from us in '01 the world lost a truly underrated artist-musician-poet who can never be replaced and should never be forgotten. Thank God we have the magnificent songs. Like this one here.

I was 15 in 1985 when BC played the Hollywood Palladium. My mom dropped me off at 8:00 so I could get in to the show first. I was the smallest guy getting killed on the barriers, but Stewart saw me and winked at me to let me know that I'd be alright(my brother barged into the scrum and pulled me out later). That is one of my favorite life memories. They meant a lot to me.
