My luck finally run out at the Silverstone HSCC Finals meeting on Saturday with a race stopping accident. Over eight seasons and nearly seventy races total cost of crash damage to date was £22 but my biggest accident in years occurred on lap 3 when a fellow competitor spun off in front of me with unavoidable contact resulting in an expensive repair bill. Although it was the other drivers fault to be honest the track was in a dreadful state after a car blew it's engine in qualifying liberally depositing it's oil around an already wet circuit, I also locked up the front tyres on the opening laps almost taking out a couple of cars.
Special thanks must go to Steve Connor and his Team for trying to turn my car around for race 2 but a serious crack was found in a suspension mounting point on the chassis and that was that.
Amazingly we all enjoyed the weekend, bottom line is myself and the other driver are fine and we have six months to repair the cars before next season starts, can't wait.
