Recently I and my friend bought tata safari kazhiranga edition automatic. Driving pleasure and interior luxury is next level. Somehow I didn’t liked XUV 700 where it doesn’t meet my requirements and ADAS is not for India. I’m a very happy user of tata safari and yet to drive long drive. My friend who was Hyundai user is now a very happy user of Tata safari and he has of same opinion of mine.

Safari is an awesome good monocoque frame whereas Scorpio is ladder on frame chasis with improved handling

Tata Safari is not a SUV....it is actually a crossover just like XUV700 or Seltos or Creta etc etc.These all are actually FWD vehicles. But Scorpio is a RWD vehicle and body on frame construction based. It is also available in 4×4 configuration. Believe me people who genuinely love to travel remote areas would like these configurations....they just do not care about sunroof or ventilated seats etc...Scorpio is far capable than these crossovers....even the old generation too....and under 25 lakh it is the only option right now....once a very experienced engineer of Mahindra told me that if Mahindra gives all the amenities of XUV to Scorpio....it would be costlier than an XUV....same theory implies till today.Just imagine a Scorpio N with all the amenities of XUV 700 with same engine tune it would be definitely costlier than an XUV 700.

Safari is a pseudo / quasi Suv! Should not call it a SUV , coz neither its is LADDER ON FRAME , Nor it is REAR WHEEL DRIVE , proper 4*4 system to bhul he jao , not even AWD even in top trim ! Plus go and see niggles on “Team Bhp” , hundreds of pages filled with niggles , new safari engine seize on day 1 , hole in engine etc ! Never heard these horror stories ever with other brand ! Tata make safe cars no doubt about that but quality control and after sale service is damn poor ! I own old safari as well as XUV500 ! Both have there niggles but safari was on another level ! Plus tata after sale is really pathetic, on the other hand mahindra after sale is much better than tata! Quality control too is much better than Tata ! I remember tata always left me at the mercy of dealer when ever there is issue , but one mail to Mahindra and dealer will run around u , once i remember koncept mahindra ceo personally called me and apologised when i shoot the mail to mahindra for some issue , this is the customer service level of Mahindra , on the othet hand , usually had verbal spat with Tata dealer and tata never intervene ! Which was pathetic !!!!! This is the reason why Mahindra sold 6k XUV700 in last month whereas TATA sold only 1.8k Safari 😂 even if i add Harrier number as well then also the number totals to 4.8k , so both the car together cant even sell like mahindra is selling just XUV700! The reason is clear , quality control and after sale service is pathetic with Tata !

My ranking of 18 to 30 L (on-road price) SUVs after driving them: 1. Scorpio N, 2. XUV 700, 3. Safari 4. Harrier. I don't do off-roading. I still booked Scorpio N due to following reasons: 1. Driving comfort (I am 6 foot tall) due to high seating and easy steering, 2. Looks (especially front and side.. but I love the rear looks of XUV more) 3. Suspension (very good on bad roads) 4. Black and brown interior theme is refreshing compared to dominant beige on other vehicles. The soft leather finish on the dash and arm rests of Scorpio N is cool. 5. Introductory prices of Scorpio N is much better than the rest. Even if I don't fall in first 25K bookings, an increase in price of up to 50K will still be cheaper than the rest. I will just remove the third row and use it as a 5 seater. But other competing vehicles are also good and have their own strengths. It is just my personal preference that I like Scorpio more than the rest. But the 8 way adjustable driver seat of Creta is much more comfortable than these 4 vehicles, especially for the tall drivers. Tata and Mahindra should increase the thigh support at least in the future updates

People choose safari for comfort. Enthusiasts love Scorpio n for its true blue engine and the body on ladder and rear wheel drive mech. Buy safari. It’s a good crossover, just don’t call it a SUV

Very rarely have we seen SUVs with 186mm Ground Clearance. Would be vary of hitting speed breakers.

It's absurd how people consider the Safaris, Harrier, Cretas, XUV700, etc as SUVs..infact it's amusing that some are even tagged as microSUVs..Crossovers are what they are and should be called accordingly..not SUV!!!

Some NCR based reviewers are among that gang ,who play the scripted trumpet,most went ahead and bought XUV700 ( surprising they got it without any booking delays faced by general buyers).One popular auto blogger ,who comes with regular marketing videos,claims to have got 18-20 kmpl..Now each one of them are selling their XUV with some or other pretext..

Also the third row folding method makes the boot space impractical and no split option on third row also reduces the flexibility. In short the third row needs a complete overhaul. Moreover the rear view which reminds me of xylo with volvo tail lamps puts me off.

Sir, Safari is a superb car but issues which are not making the New buyers confident on it are..It's post sales service experience, Hard Steering for City Rides & Hard Suspension in City ride. Although, the steering & suspension becomes it's Advantage on Highway & Rough roads. Safari has superb 3rd row sitting because of 2nd row slide availability in this segment. In S-N...the Steering is very light & as per Mahindra it gets harder on high speeds...rest I don't know much.

Mahindra has got 80,000 booking for Xuv700 which is available for delivery only after 20 to 25 months, it's not worth waiting for 2 years for a vehicle just for features. ScorpianN will also go into same waiting period.

Dicor was great Storme was legendary. Safari 2022 is again nailed it. सच्चा लोहा जो tata खुद बनाती है तो कंजूसी नहीं करेंगे लोहा लगाने मे... Super safe safari .... Scorpio I can't even consider .

मै आपसे सहमत हुं मगर मुझे ऐसे लगता है कि सफारी में फोर व्हील ड्राइव्ह नही दिया हो लेकीन जो टेरेन मोड दिये हुवे है वो ज्यादा नही मगर थोडेसे फोर व्हील ड्राइव्ह के आसपास ले जाते है.

Waiting for neutral feedback on ScorpioN, and instead wrt Mahindra cars since xuv700 launch, there are multiple issues (brake failure, irritating noise in suspension, left side leg of steering, shoe brakes getting replaced within 10k km, display going blank at times, etc to name a few) found in xuv700 in past 12 months but at the time of launch every body was like ga ga about it... specially big auto portal houses and big fat KZitem influencers... Only bias opening leading to huge waiting period but now people realising the niggles in xuv700 and cancellation of booking upto 3200 in a month is observed in recent time.

Sir the current so called Safari is a good car in many aspects, even better than ScorpioN. But we are disappointed with Tata because this is not the actual Safari, after dicor for 8 years I still drive Safari Storme, the current generation cant be called a Safari. Leave aside Scorpio N, lets compare the current generation Safari with the Safari Storme, Storme is far better. On top of it, the launch of Safari was poor, a joke and idiotic, all of a sudden from Gravitas to Safari... lolz. Tata if not by now then soon they will realize what a grave mistake they did with Safari. They killed the legacy.

Personally, I love Storme more than the current Safari. So I am on the same page. But you have to understand, current so called Safari is 5 times better than Storme for Highway drive comfort and stability. Strome hume Jhule jhulati hai Highspeed pe, and long drives mein it can be irritating. The suspension is not as refined as current Safari. Not everyone goes to jungle for offroading. Just imagine someone staying in Mumbai or Bangalore, they goto Goa or Ooty etc they don't need 4X4, they need high speed plush ride to take family along. Hence Monocoque was chosen over ladder on frame. And Tata made the business decision to cater to 95% of people. The 5% enthusiasts are understandably disappointed. I am too. Let's hope they launch an AWD version at least.

Tata needs to change their logo..and the very cheap and UGLY steering wheel was the deal breaker for me when it comes to Harrier or Safari..it reminds me all over of the Sumo grande..infact all the cars of Tata has very ugly steering wheels..that is the only thing that keeps me away from Tata
